Re: tranny with a delay in shifting
What would you recommend? Taking it to a real shop? Or should I mount a full scale offense against the JL that did this? :axe: I just found the very excellent and detailed thread on putting a T5 in the stro. Cool...it seems that the first step for me is to find a T5 setup for an Astro and go from th...

Re: tranny with a delay in shifting
I just bought the car and changed the fluid because I did not know when it had been changed. I took it to Jiffy Lube. They do not drop the pan but instead suck the old liquid out and put new in. They do this over about 15 minutes so, according to them, they can get almost all of the old fluid out. I...

tranny with a delay in shifting
My transmission has a slight delay in shifting since I changed the fluid - i am trying to pay closer attention to find out which gear(s) it is, or whether it is just going into or coming out of neutral. Is this likely to be an adjustment issue? or is it time to make a plan for a transplant? I read o...

Is there any way to convert a stro with 2 barn doors to the type with 2 doors and one solid window at the top?

Re: How much difference in driving by lowering it 2"?
Why did you lower the van 2" in the front and 2.5" in the rear? Why not both 2" or both 2.5"

Re: Jump seats on the rear doors?
Such answers....hmmm what an awesome display of....well...it is a display! :supz: I had not thought of the crunch factor, although I did think of strapping a couple of rocking chairs ala Beverly Hillbilly's, on top of the van but then I would have trouble going through tunnels...then I would, of cou...

Re: backup camera
Thanks! Is the camera a security type camera or a webcam? Maybe it is better to ask if it uses some kind of coax cable or a usb? Have you seen a diy camera system? Are they very durable? If I could stick one on the inside bottom of the rear window do you think I could use a usb camera? Reason why I ...

How much difference in driving by lowering it 2"?
I like plain jane but when I am driving on the freeway and the road veers right or left I often feel like she is going to tip over. Yes, I am going the speed limit :yikes: Yes, I have not completely adjusted to driving a van - the last car I had (10 years ago) was a little Honda Civic. If I lower th...

driving from the captains seat
I just saw an ad for a captains seat from an astro. It has arm rests which I guess is what makes it a captains seat.
Do armrests make driving more comfortable? easier?
Also do any stock rear bench seats fold out flat - bed style?

Re: Auto Transmission for a diesel conversion
Thanks! Maybe the stock tranny can handle a diesel but is it going to be happy for a long time? I am guessing that the first two things to go on my astro are going to be the power steering pump or the tranny. When the tranny goes I want to be able to drop another tranny into the stro that will (hope...

Jump seats on the rear doors?
On occassion I would like to be able to carry an extra couple of people. I was wondering if it is possible to install two jump seats in the rear, one on each door? A jump seat is a seat that will fold up when not in use. Has anyone tried this?

Installing power windows?
Is it easy/possible to install power windows on the front two doors when they originally came with cranks? I am constantly driving to new places and getting lost in the process, so it is really useful to be able to open the passengers window to talk to people ![poke :poke:](./images/smilies/smile_poke.gif)
