power lock mechanism on drivers door doesn't work
Wow! Sorry for throwing all my broken toys at you folks but my budget says "DIY". The level on the drivers door that should lock and unlock all three doors does not work. It will unlock everything but it will not lock. Any idea of what is wrong? Which part needs to be replaced?

side sliding door needs some help
To open the door I pull the latch and then, with my left index finger I have to reach other to the left end of the door and pull it out a little to get the door slide. Which part needs to be adjusted/replaced/repaired?

Re: Futon in the rear?
Ideally...i would like to buy a folding bed/seat from a full size van - they are almost 6' when folded down. I folded my middle seat down and tilted it forward and found that I had just about 6' from the rear doors to the folded/tilted up seat. when I am sleeping on the bed I will not need the seat,...

How to fix a twitching gas guage
I have heard that this is a common problem with Astros. My gas guage has a twitch. When I rock the van or take a turn the needle will twitch, sometimes as far as to half a tank, and then return to the proper place. How can I fix this?

Is my cat clogged?
My van passed Oregon's smog but I just found out that for that year they hook up the car to the computer - through the computer's harness and not at the tailpipe. If the cat is bad will it suck engine performance? gas mileage?

Re: My 96 needs near rear drums
Thanks! I went with the new drums but will keep your suggestion filed about the brake upgrade. If I ever decide to redo the engine I will do the brake upgrade.

Re: Adding a second battery?
Thanks! I am going to look under the van to see if I can find some way to put it in a large empty space near the gas tank...not likely go to boom, is it? I really would like them to be outside the passenger compartment. Once I find the space I will ask you a different set of questions :) ...but basi...

Re: Trying to squeeze more out of every gallon
What kind of highway increase would I see if I put in the 3.7's or 4.1's? What effect would that have on my top end speed? Reduce it from 70 to 65? ;)

Need rear window defroster, rwindow wiper and power windows
I was waiting for the ideal astro but when i found mine I had to have it...it was love at first sight! I would really like to add some things to it though, partly for safety's sake and partly for convenience. 1. Power front windows - what does it take to make this swap? The driver's side window is a...

Re: Adding a second battery?
Thanks! Yes, out of the way is important because I often carry people in my van. I just looked under my van today and noticed there is a big space next to the (very deep) gas tank that looks like it might be able to house a couple of lead acid batteries. The glass mats are cool but, last time I look...

Adding a second battery?
I am looking at a lot of toys that I would like to add to my van - including a computer system, 24" lcd panel tv, etc. I want to be able to use a lot of these things while the van is parked so was looking into the possibility of adding a second, or even a third battery to the van. The problem i...
