Re: How much juice can I get from the dc outlets in the stro?

Peter I am disappointed in you... Being an hvac and a/c guy...
That would actually be 500w divided by 120vac = 4.166 amps draw from the inverter, which through the magic of induction does not neccessarily equate to the inverter drawing 41 amps from the vehicle..

Re: How much juice can I get from the dc outlets in the stro?

You guys are on the right track but overlooked one thing.. He is talking about wattage of his AC components running off of his inverter, and you are figuring current based on 12 volts DC... The biggest thing to look at is the max current DRAW for the inverter. This is not the AC current capacity, wh...

Re: Alt replacement

I had my alternator go in Islamirada around midnight on a Saturday, we were staying in Key Largo, and I had to be at work on Monday.. I had no tools with me and if there were any indication it was going we would have taken another vehicle. I never had any issues at all before, voltage was fine, no b...

Re: votm??

It was a junker going to scrap.. it smells terrible, interior is trashed.. wheels are the nicest part!

The bumper is fine.. Those are DHC Off Road Mounts on there!! :supz:

I must say.. It was FAR more dramatic, and a MUCH better picture in my head.. but it sure was fun!

Re: Tramper Build data request

I think as far as horsepower you will be fine, as Petey pointed out, you are 2wd, so far less weight, also he went a little overboard with the ammenities.. (it is hard being out in the woods when you are used to being so prissy and pampered all the time, i guess..) You could easily shave some weight...

Re: Van of the Month - submit yourself!

Is this where we should submit pics? I have decided to do something that I KNOW I will regret doing, especially since if it goes bad I will have a tough time paying for repairs.. BUT.. the fame and fortune of being the van of the month is totally worth it!! What do I have in mind? You shall see late...

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

Tried em out in the rain for the first time yesterday.. Awesome! No matter how hard I tried, could not break the rear wheels free on freshly wet pavement that has not been wet for months, so lots of oil and stuff.. also no pull to the side in puddles like my bfgs did... then again my camber was scre...

Re: Van of the Month - submit yourself!

Nude Petey pics would be bad... but wouldnt be TOO terrible if he did not insist on them being taken while "in the spread"....

Now Libby on the other hand... well... I agree with Dean.

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

If anyone has requests for a pic from a certain angle, ect.. pm me and I will post it in the appropriate spot.. I paid $445 for all four delivered, but that was my cost as a dealer. Not that be...

Re: Lower and Upper Ball Joint R & R

Not to sound like a killjoy or anything, but jacks are for lifting, jack STANDS are for holding overnight.. :poke: That said, I used jackstands under both lower control arms so the whole front end was up and I could do both sides at once.. However, if you are doing your lower ball joints and arm bus...

Re: Trip to Lake Okeechobee

Lots got sold.. (No reserve on the WPB auctions..) but prices were pretty sad.. I saw a Porsche 911 go for 13k!! Apparently the owner bought it back on the spot from the bidder, but it still must suck to go sell your car and end up still having the car AND losing 13k+!! Some were surprising though.....

Re: Nitto Dune Grapplers

That front bumper has been SERIOUSLY abused over the years too! I have winched out various vehicles that were either WAY too heavy or WAY too stuck for me to be trying... and got them all out! I also used it to put up some 15-20 ft trees in the back yard, and it gets stood on almost weekly!
