Replace the stock subframe-body donuts?
Lookin under my camo-stro, getting ready to lift. The stock, rubber (?) bushings all seem pretty dry and cracked. Shouldn't we replace those when we put in the lift spacers? Where does one get those stock donuts? Lumpy In Your Ears for 40 Something Years http://www.LumpyMusic.com http://www.digitalc...

Hey Timeless!
How's your research going on VSS? Mine is bugging the heck out
of me for some generated RF interference.

Not sure if you seen my lift thread? But I just reread it,and it will answer most of your questions. http://astrosafarivans.org/bb2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2611 Thanks mucho! I'll go devour the details out of that thread right now. Funny thing is I also had to hunt down a 18mm, also without air to...

Re: Adjust Your Mirrors
I don't care how well your mirrors are adjusted... you are a fool if you don't turn your head too. +1 Several hundred years ago, when I learned to drive, I learned the arcronym SMOG - Signal Mirrors Over-the-shoulder Go Even if I didn't think that turning my head was a good practice, I can see my b...

UPDATE - NOISE IS BACK Help Guess at my RF Noise? Speedo Sen
Well, I THOUGHT that replacing the VSS cured my odd RFI. It didn't. Now, just to add to the confusion, the RFI comes and goes. I can completely unplug the VSS and the sound may or may not be present, just depends on the phase of the moon, how I hold my mouth, current gold prices, whatever. For those...

UPDATED RESOLVED! Help Guess at my RF Noise? Speedo Sensor?
My RFI noise problem was indeed the VSS. Pulled the connector and that killed the noise. So, pulled the VSS, found a cracked housing (leaking a bit of ATF on the driveway) and the inductor poles were worn to nearly nothing. 10mm bolt and a twist pulled the VSS from the transmission. It comes out eas...

Re: Tips on Changing Spark Plugs & Wires
I'm a little late to the party - I changed plugs on my 89 Astro yesterday and ran into a problem that I haven't seen anyone mention. I couldn't get the spark plug socket onto #4 because the oil dipstick sheath was in the way. I had to remove the nuts that secure that thing to the exhaust manifold, t...
