what does that thing do?

my treck on top doesnt go in properly, it slides out and stuff... and goes back in and gets stuck.... i think it just keeps the top of the door from flexing and stuff

is that camaro a real yanko? or a clone? there was one at a car show here not too long ago. i dont remember what colour, but the guy said it was a clone
