Re: Transmission Cooler

EDIT... Got the grill to mount with some utility knife triming to the back... Is this normal? Does everyone elses grill clear the cooler no problem? So now how much ATF should be added. I think I read somewhere about a quart. PS. I am not a mechanic at all, the most I had done before this was replac...

Re: Transmission Cooler

I've got my tranny cooler mounted... Removing the grill was very easy once I found the correct tool. All I need to do tonight is run the hoses, check for leaks and top off the trans fluid. Let me know what you think, picture below. And the reason I stopped here, besides being late... I am having A L...

Re: What does the factory tow package consist of?

I've located and read all of the how to's and have found several different pictures of the aux trans cooler in place. If it wasn't for all of the information on this forum, I wouldn't be trying to do this myself. To be honest, my biggest concern is getting the grill off without breaking it. I'll pos...

Re: What does the factory tow package consist of?

Expecting a "yes" answer, but I'll ask anyway... So chances are my in rad trans cooler won't cut it towing a 6'x10' enclosed haulmark, with a handful of mountain bikes/camping gear/etc from Connecticut to Colorado, 30 hours straight? It is a mostly flat drive, but my concerns are with the ...

Re: What does the factory tow package consist of?

Yup the tow pack is 3:73 gears a trans cooler , and trailer (wiring minus the plug) in the jack storage spot in the rear of the van. Also there is a blue wire that runs up to the front of the van and comes out under the carpet right by your Ebrake this is for wiring in a trailer brake controler. yo...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Brought the van in for an oil change... Decided oil changes are too expensive no matter how sick and lazy you are. Talked to a friend who owns a bike shop and ordered a Thule 326 Awning for an unreal price... Hopefully I will have it before the end of the month, but I probably won't install it befor...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Nice to meet you Philly! Just curious why you would lower the ride by 2"? What type of driving are you doing? The fog lights you might want to make them something else instead hehe but either way make sure to use some rubber between the lights and the grill ... bouncing lights = headache :( I ...

Re: Cabin Air Filter

Fair enough... For now I'll just blast the vents for a while then vaccum everything.

I found a lot of conflicting information with my internet searches. Some said there was a cabin filter, some said there wasn't.

Cabin Air Filter

This may be a stupid question, but I'm new here... I just bought a 2000 GMC Safari with low miles, so it has been sitting. When I turn on the AC/heat all kinds of crud comes out out of the vents. I have reason to believe something made a nest in my cabin air filter, so this will need to be replaced ...

Re: looking for rotating bases for front seat

Has anyone actually done this? I am considering it and am a little worried with the seat height... according to the description the seat will be raised 1 3/8". I guess I could figure out a way to cut down the legs to make it sit at the original height. Also, here is an update link to get you to...

Also, found the oil change and fuel filter change how to's on the Tech Gallery... These should be very helpful as I've only been under the car for a total of 5 minutes now.

Re: New Safari in CT

Hey Phillly, van looks good, was she able to provide the maintenance records to you? if so post up the last things that were done to it and we can help you a little more with what you should probably do. She did not have any of the maintenance records for the car nor did I do a carfax. Basically th...
