Re: DIY painting wheels/new wheels for $55.99

He's always cozying up to the van, Cooper loves the van, he knows he's going to have fun everytime he gets in it, if I open the slider he'll just kick back in there and use it as a dog house!

I like the dog dish too, but I was trying to go for a deeper looking rim with my centercap/color combo, waaaay too hard to do with those dog dishes!

Re: DIY painting wheels/new wheels for $55.99

Nice...........add a set of beauty rings. I have close to the same thing. My wheels are "soft eights" and black but with the same center caps (GMC logo) and trim rings. any pics of the wheels? I thought about putting rings on but the best price I could find for new ones was $75, so maybe ...

DIY painting wheels/new wheels for $55.99

I wanted to change the look of my steel wheels with dogdish hubcaps. I found the chrome center caps with new lugs and black plastic retaining lugs on eBay for $40.00+shipping. I had to do some slight modifications to make them fit, basically you just remove the seating prongs on the backside of the ...

Re: De-oxidizing clear signal lenses DIY with pics

It may be more work and take longer to do, but I prefer to do it by hand, there is a level of detail you can get that I always have a hard time acheiving with power tools. I'm probably just impatient and push too hard or run it too fast

Re: Sun/moon roofs

Well I have a buddy who owns 2 body shops but it looks like a serious undertaking that'll cost some bucks. It's definitely on my wish list and not completely out of the realm of possibilites. It would definitely be nice to have a slider during the hot California summers here and would probably smoot...

De-oxidizing clear signal lenses DIY with pics

I can't stand dull, foggy, yellowed turn lenses. I know they sell kits at auto stores to do this but I'm pretty cheap and will always try to do things myself if possible. I used good old Brasso and a lot of elbow grease to clean up the lenses. I chose to use Brasso because it was in the cupboard, an...

No way man, the king is chemist! He got to do all the hard ones like air filter box, fan shroud, alternator, water pump, coil, doghouse, and probably more. I've referred to his tutorials quite a few times while working on my van

Re: FREE! throttle plate mod DIY with pics

i have also done this to my van, i did notice a little bit of a difference while accelerating from a stop, but this was back when it was stock... Yeah, hard to say exactly what my gains were since I replaced a few other parts at the same time, but the getup does feel better from a stop, and it seem...

FREE! throttle plate mod DIY with pics

Simple throttle plate mod for newer vans to remove the restrictor plate. Performance gains are subjective, and will be unique to each van. I found an extra throttle plate from junkyard for few dollars to work on in case I screwed something up. I went at it from the interior side, so I removed the do...

Re: Sun/moon roofs

Anyone have a rough estimate on what it would cost? The requirement would be that it doesn't leak, Dont care much on how it looks on the outside seeing as I look at the rooftop like never

Re: Low volts.... sometimes?

Update: well I wanted the 140 amp but found a 105 amp off craigslist for $50, Seeing as how I was just informed by my wife that she's pregnant again, I thought it was a good idea to start saving a couple dollars like right now! guy I got it from was told he needed it for his suburban, turned out to ...

Re: Sealed beam to composite grill wiring DIY with pics

one other question, after looking at the before/after pics.... are the signal/parking lights the same? i never realised how similar they are until seeing the pics side by side like that They are the same lenses, but I de-oxidized them with none other than Brasso! works like a champ, just a lot of e...

Re: Sealed beam to composite grill wiring DIY with pics

very good write up and pics... this is a swap that I have no idea why more don't do. there's some very nice vans out there .. custom cargo's especially that would look so clean without that plastic headlight bucket. a thread like this wouldn't deter me from buying one with sealed beams. lucky sob l...
