Re: door pins & bushings
From my previous posting..... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Finally did the pin thing. I used 2 2x4 on the roof and tied the other end to the passenger side roof rack rail so the working end is fully adjustable. I added the 2 other 2x4's to get the needed lift. I used 4 sets of cam-buckle straps sinc...

Re: Anyone have blue smoke upon first startup?
My 90 emits blue smoke at the following times:
Any time it has been turned off for longer than 20 minutes.
20W50 oil made no difference.

Re: wiper blades
I use the cheapest ones from Walmart, they are like $3 each. They work great and last as long as any others I have tried Anco, Trico, Bosch, RainX, Michelin. They are a heck of alot cheaper. I even tried the beam style wipers, didn't care for them. Ditto on the econo at Wally World. But then, with ...

Re: What motor oil can be used in Astro van?
In my '90 I've been using GTX 20w50 for a long time.
At last count I was installing a quart every 200 miles (321.8688 Canadian).
For the most in-depth info on oil and filters, go to:
bitog.com
I've read some very interesting papers on oil and viscosity.

Don't tell him he can't do something....
Have you heard about Clay Dyer?
OMG ... what a story.
Nobody has the nerve to tell him "you can't do that".
Check out some of his videos.
Just amazing.

Re: temp getting pretty high and it's not even warm out yet..
Remember ... the scan tool will only report what the temp sending unit is telling the 'puter. If the sending unit has a resistance of say 400ohms then the 'puter will report whatever the temp tables say 400ohms equals to in degrees no matter what the actual temp is. Some engines have a gauge temp se...

Re: Replaced Fuel Pump / TPS Etc.
Does your have the stove pipe?
Maybe the stove pipe valve is directing heated air from the manifold into the intake system.
And with the doghouse on, the heat is worse.
Just another thought........

Re: temp getting pretty high and it's not even warm out yet..
OK, another option. On my 90, the faster I went the hotter the temp gauge. 80mph (128.74752 Canadian) and the temp in near the red zone. Slow down and the temp would drop as well. Hummmmm Anyway.... A few weeks later the plastic tank burst on the rad. So, I replaced the rad. Holy crap .... I could b...

T'stat.
My 90 would open right at mid-gauge for a long time.
Last 2 months the opening point has climbed up the gauge.
Not to the 3/4 mark but I do notice it.
Once the t'stat opens all is normal.

Re: Burnouts from around the world
On the coupe, it just like he just mashed the gas and poof ... instant smoke. The second one stopped traffic and then almost got run over by the bus. The bike, wow, what pedal power endurance. But nothing will ever beat this non-Astro/non-street car burnout. http://revver.com/video/305477/best-burno...
