Generally, miles hurt more than time. Unless we are talking highway miles. But, then again, I've seen some women that..... .... back to the subject. It really depends on how each was treated. Type of mileage. Garaged. Regular service. Multiple owners. The list can go on....... There is no clear cut ...

Also, replace the fuel pump relay.

And.....
There are LOTS of hints and tricks as related to the FP replacement.

My steering box leaks as well ... but ... only when I take off the reservoir tank cap to check the level.
It will leak about a 9" wet spot and then stop.
I quit checking the fluid level.

Just my experience on my '90.

Anyway, today was a bad bad for my van. Couldn't get over 50mph (80.467199999 Canadian) while on the gas. It would backfire badly into the intake. Didn't notice any unusual smoke from the tailpipe.
