Re: Which way should it turn...
The voltage isn't that much of a concern. We've had success getting enough hydrogen using a very small battery charger producing 2-5amps.

I hope you mean DC voltage. We expect to see close to the rated power from it. 12+V and aroun d 85 amps I would think.

Thanks Jim. Should be the same on the 92 then. I think that is the way we have this thing set to turn.

Okie Dokie. I thought I recalled reading something somewhere that turning a GM alternator the wrong way would ruin it....

Which way should it turn...
All, Working on a science project with a friend of mine. We're using an alternator from the 92 Astro my wife wrecked to generate electricity. Something that I thought of is this: I know the alternator must turn a specific direction to work correctly. So which direction should it turn? Looking at the...

Re: Would you buy it?
Thanks Guys! I've decided to pass on this van. Too many unknowns, too far away (250 miles). Plus the wife has made the comment that she is getting tired of driving the van to work and fighting the cross winds where we live now. We moved last fall and now live in Central NE. So another two wheel driv...

Would you buy it?
OK here's the deal. I have a chance to pick up a 97 Safari 2wd, 115K miles, rear AC, factory CD. Pretty green ext. Grey cloth int. with quad buckets. But there's a catch. It has a SES light on, won't go above 40mph and the dealer quoted $3K to replace the trans. I think I can pick it up for $1K or l...

Re: Mystery Vibration..............
My thought was maybe the drive shaft had been re-installed out of phase. It it was put back in 180* off from where it had been, you could get this kind of vibration.

Re: Slider keeps locking itself
Ok here are the pictures: In the first one you can see the actuator, the lever it attaches to, the rivet that mounts it to the inner door skin and the slot. http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p123/NotDadsW41/webSite/100_6678.jpg In this picture you can see how the slot has wallowed out allowing the ...

Re: Slider keeps locking itself
Upon further review..... There is a lever which mounts to the door itself and attaches to the actuator. When the actuator moves in or out, it moves this lever, locking or unlocking the door. What I have now found is that this thing is mounted to the door with a tab that slides through a slot and a r...

Re: Slider keeps locking itself
OK finally got the door off. The actuator was bad and was holding the manual lock in a bad position which kept it locked. But I replaced actuator and I still cannot get the door to lock or unlock with the power locks consistently. I've checked the voltage coming to the actuator, and at the door post...
