Re: going to buy a new computer...Apple or PC?

Personnally i would go with a mac. If you can afford it and if you want too.... That being said.. If you have never used one there will be a bit of a learning curve. But there is a version of MS office for it. (there is also open office{free} or apple own iWork ~75$ and they are compatable with ms o...

Re: stuck in 2nd gear

Not being really versed in all things. But it sounds like you have something shorting out.. And or ... Not sure if the 93 models had the electrically shifted transmission. But perhaps the electrical shifting component is shorting (where the gear lever is and causing a short with the gauges cabling) ...

Re: Old phrases-add your own

I may not be quite "of that age" yet. But i still got a kick out of it. My thoughts on the E-brake vs parking brake was always dependent on the vehicle it was on. I always think of the one onthe van as a parking brake (don't see it being grabbed in and emergency). and the ones int hei midd...

Re: Rocky Mountain Astro

Good tips there bike. Yeah. if you have some good long extensions and a floppy end for your ratchets the plugs arent bad. Through the wheel wells. And i have found that most cars are just the same as anyother. Sure some quirks here and there. But they all run pretty much the same. If you are a gear ...

Re: I asked nicely

Basicaly. The OLV thread got out of hand. Some seemed to insinuate that the guy who bought the company from Dan was not being honest then this and that. Went from a welcome thread to a who the hell knows. The mods said that IRbear (new owner) would have a chance to respond to the (accusations, quest...

So this is why it wont lock.

My slider won't lock, not with key, not with electrics not with the sliding knob on the inside. Heres why. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4092/5051072379_6d1d243522.jpg Photo on 2010-10-04 at 18.45 #2 by leadtrombone , on Flickr http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4147/5051068227_1cc4763e5e.jpg Photo on ...

Re: 4l60e

the donor blazer was a 2wd model. Once i get the money back from my school that they owe me i am going to pick it up. I think i will do a strait swap. see if things are better. then look at slowly rebuilding the one in the van now. Maybe i will try to beef it up so i can do some decent towing with it.

Re: 4l60e

I am thinking. even if i have to take my time an rebuilt it (or the one in my van at the moment after a swap and finding out the new on is not so good) t...

Overdrive unit??

Has anyone actually used something like this http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_catalog/overdrive_units/gm_4_speed_automatic_trans..html Looks like it might be something to look into when one intends on towing or doing lots of highway miles.. Just wondering if this would be a worthwhile upgrade to look...

OK the 4l60e that is in the safari/astro is the same as a 4l60e in a ....... S10, Blazer, ...?? How about the 4l60e that would be in a car. Example being in Germany i have access to lots of used Opel's (GM Subsidiary) and many of those use the 4l60. Is the only issue the bell housing or are the gear...
