Re: Water in oil, losing water, wheres it coming from? Need
I am not sure of the routing of the coolant through the heads (steel or aluminum) but i had an aluminum head in a BMW that leaked the coolant into the oil. NOT into the cylinders or anything else. But yes.. If it is coolant in the oil the oil would look frothy and probably would have crud on the oil...

Re: My XP computer
If your needs are basic then the cheAp nettop/netbook/other combos will probably do you fine. You could get a whole set up to replace what you have for under ( maybe way unde) $500. I will add some links here in a little bit to show you what I would suggest.

Re: Coolant Temperature Fluctuating Wildly
x2 on low coolant. Check your levels and work the air bubbles out. Open the radiator cap and top off. Run the engine with radiator cap off. when the engine gets warm and the thermostat opens and the coolant cycles through all the spots you will probably see some air bubbles percolate up through the ...

Re: New member - New purchase of second van question
My bad.... My memory is not what it should be. My van has Federal brand tires.. Doing good so far this winter...... The coopers were on my Passport, i wasn't too impressed with them in the rough/snow/ice. But that may have had more todo with the lightness of the vehicle and the lack of aids (4wd or ...

Re: Prototype for the new Astro
Driving around today and this thread got stuck in my head. I noticed that here in europe, the size of the astro/safari is quite popular. As we see the similarity between the current VW vans. There is also a similar size one from Opel, (Reanault has the same van rebadged), Fiat, and Mercedes. I think...

Re: Prototype for the new Astro

Sure nuff. Glad to see i can still recognize things...

Re: New member - New purchase of second van question
I've got coopers on my van. I think they are discoverers ( i will have to check... Lots of snow and ice right now and i don't want to go outside at the moment). I will check and make sure. later......... But. The coopers seem to be doing OK in the snow right now (we've got up to 6inches + at the mom...

Re: Wheels/tire sizes
What size? Stock, but that's no fun. Usually people match the tire to the lift. 2" = 235/75R15 (29") 3" = 30x9.5R15 4" = 31x10.5R15 Any lift will cause you to lose mpg do to increased aerodynamic drag. I don't want to hijack here.. But i was looking at puttinh 235/75R15 on my sa...

Sorry. 2.25" for the shallow.
I knew there was a quarter in there. Sorry again.
Just wish I could find all the ones I lost in the couch. (quarters that is).

Re: Trans fluid change, filter change, diff fluid change
I have had good luck so far with discountautoparts.com Good prices and quick shipping. Then again I don't have much in the wa of parts stir around me. So I rely on places that can ship quick. I would say that any decent auto parts store should have the tranny stuff. The 4L60 is a pretty universal tr...
