Re: '99 Safari 1Ton 4x4 Cummins power
This is great but in all fairness you didn't swap them into an Astro...You swapped an Astro body onto a truck frame. :poke: Personally I would have recessed the frame into the body so the body sits down lower and hides the fact there is a truck frame under it. To me seeing a truck frame under a veh...

Re: '99 Safari 1Ton 4x4 Cummins power
I was doing a write up over on (AS.com) and Competition diesel .com so I will try not to run on to badly here. I see that some of you surf both sites, so look it over there too under ('99 Crazy lifted Monster Safari). I went into a lot more details on that first write-up. I'll stick more to the high...

The ONLY way this is possible is the Full size truck frame that the van now rides on.

Re: '99 Safari 1Ton 4x4 Cummins power
On the body I did forget to mention that I had to cut the floor from the dog house to right under the gas pedel. My engine is what is known as a P-pump motor. It has a very large mechanical pump that hangs off the left(drivers) side. It"s the thing with all the tubes coming out of it right unde...

Re: '99 Safari 1Ton 4x4 Cummins power

This is what I got back from from Unity.. B.G.OGER, I HAVE A 2005 GMC SAFARI ALSO,& I WORK FOR THE COMPANY THAT MAKES THE SPOTLIGHTS. I EVEN HAD OUR APPLICATIONS ENGINEER GO OVER THE REASON “WHY” NO APPLICATIONS FOR THESE VEHICLES. HE EXPLAINED, THE WINDSHIELD POST IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH TO ACCOMMOD...

Cop style spotlights
Has anyone installed a Unity "A" piller spotlight on there van? I have found only a few pictures of police vans with them but no info on the brand of lights. Unity is the biggest supplier of the "cop spot" but shows no listing for these vans.

Re: Diesel vans????
Well I guess then I should start with the beginning . I saw a lifted 4x4 Astro van in some ad, and had to build one my self. So first find a clean van cheep----- not so easy! My '99 GMC Safari with a bad engine picked it up for $700.00. Keep track now. http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc368/biggr...

Re: Diesel vans????
I really should of went with the VE pump 5.9 '98 later would not had to cut into the floor behind the gas pedel. But oh well, just a little more fix'n and fab'n.
