Re: New muffler!

I got a lot done on the tailpipe. http://i359.photobucket.com/albums/oo33/extremegtafan/lki5000.jpg Only had one glove on because I took off the other to get my phone out for the picture. That piece at the end there is an adapter to make the pipe fit. It's a little smaller than the pipe that's curre...

Re: New muffler!

About seven months later... That's bad, even for me, but I finally got that exhaust put on. It's a LOT quieter now, surprisingly. Someone says that it'll get louder when the fiberglass melts, but I don't really know much about that. Will it? Also, I got a bunch of scrap pieces of pipe that came off ...

Re: He fell out of the ship

You have to wonder what goes through these people's heads when they do stuff like this. It's just sad that innocent people had to die because of a ridiculous move like that. Even if he did just fall into the lifeboat, did he also fall on the ropes, ignition switch and throttle lever (if gas) and jus...

Talk about a bad day...

Today, someone hit my mirror. They didn't leave a note, but they left something better- their truck. Practically touching my mirror. Fortunately, it just folded with no scuffs that weren't there before. I left a note on the truck telling them to be more careful next time (that's all, believe it or n...

Re: i got sick of failing e-check so i bought something old

Nice! My mom had one of those, but I think it was a '70, and it was green. The brake booster was out, and that thing was nearly impossible to stop.

Responding to brake failure

You hear stories all the time about people going MILES with a stuck accelerator, or bad brakes, unable to stop, and you just have to sit back and wonder why. Seems simple enough- if the brakes are out, just downshift until the vehicle is slow enough to either (A) gently steer into a pole/tree/etc or...

Custom bench seat?

My uncle just replaced the bench seat in his truck due to it being worn out. I can fix it pretty easily since I know a bit about sewing. It's blue vinyl. I'll probably leave it like that until I get some steady cash and can afford some new fabric. I can make some mounting brackets in the school shop...

Re: New winter hobby

It's pretty fun! I'm not an expert, but I've been putting together my own computers and modifying them since I was about 10. I don't have any programming knowledge, though, that's the hard part! Good luck!

Re: May have found where all my gas is going...

Weird thing I just noticed... The gas smell that I got was after touching the right side... Where the exhaust comes out. Pretty much right behind the exhaust. I've got nothing on the other side. Does that signify anything?

May have found where all my gas is going...

I've been getting about 10 mpg... I had the timing adjusted, and I was thinking it's the o2 sensor or the cat. The way I find out my mileage is to run it out and then figure it up based off how much was in there, simply because I can't afford to put gas in regularly. It just so happened earlier that...

Re: Shipping charges?

Shipping is outrageous... I sold something on eBay once- a small thing, a bit bigger than a computer mouse- I figured it would be no more than $7 to ship it. I (stupidly) didn't make sure before putting it up... I didn't make anything off that- everything went to shipping. The fact that it's so high...

Re: Grinding/squeaking sound when turning

What about white grease? If that will work, how do I get the a-frames off with the least amount of trouble?

Re: Grinding/squeaking sound when turning

I'm still having trouble with it... I don't know why I haven't replied to this until now. I've greased the ball joints and sprayed oil on my shocks, but it still squeaks. Someone says it's probably the rubber bushings on the a-frame. How do I oil them? I heard it's really hard to do.

I found a few at the parts store, but I haven't bought anything just yet. I'll try and keep you all updated.

Re: Heater fan problem

Thanks!

Seems like it shouldn't be too hard. I just hope I can afford the new parts.
