Re: major headache

if you've been crankin' on it for a while, and it has been getting gas, you may want to change your oil.

Re: I think I might need another starter...

yup, clean up the connections, if that don't help, get a different starter. if it's dimming your lights, it's certainly suckin' too much power.

Re: major headache

Ok, as some of you out there are well aware, my 94 astro had given me some starting issues sorta like this in the past. I can't remember what my thread was, but it was a long one. i had tried everything on my van to get it to run correctly. did everything that you said you did. with one exception. t...

Re: temperature reading on the gage.

Try not to get confused with the actual temp guage, and the temperature coolant sensor. is your guages analog or digital. i know my digital guages can show some funky things sometimes. However it is the nature of the beast.

leaky leaky...........dammit

found out that where the front driveshaft enters the front diff is leaking. is this a hard job, or just time consuming? when it was in the shop for an alignment, the mechanic claimed that he worked for gm for quite some time, and he said that was normal. could this be why he now works for another co...

Re: very strange........

well, the fuel pump is coming on with the key, so i guess i can dismiss the relay. plus the fuel is spraying out of the injectors. i'm gonna try a new coolant temperature sensor and see what happens. oh ya, i almost forgot. without the van running, at one point when i was turning my dist cap, the in...

Re: very strange........

well, i actually had a chance to check the codes. they are : 15= Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor High 43= Knock sensor signal was either above 3.5 volts or below 1.5 volts for at least 20 seconds. 54= Fuel Pump Relay i knew the code 43. that has been around for a long time. so i'm left with ...

Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......

i finally broke down and called GM for advice. (not mechanically broke down) they told me that they could indeed tear the tranny apart and tell me what cottman did, or didn't do. i also inquired on the possiblity of reprogramming the tranny, apparently that isn't an option. so for $150 give or take,...

Re: alternator vs ac compressor...

if i took my van to a fabricator, would they be able to get the measurments they'll need? the less down time for me the better due to being deputy fire chief. i use my van for all emergencies.

thanks!! that looks awesome.

Re: ac removal

so the bypass pulley that is listed up to 94 will work on the 95? there is no listing for the 95's, so many many parts places have told me.
