Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......
i ended up going to mr. transmission, and learned the following. When cottman "rebuilt" my tranny chances are they just fixed what was broke. did not fix the original culprit which is the hard shift. i wouldn't mind the shift issue if it were meant to do that. i know i'm going to end up in...

Re: spring/bolt kit???
so out of the research i've done, i guess my van does take the spring kit. so i picked up a gasket and springs/bolts and the shop claims they need the van for 2 hrs. i was going to do the side that is leaky for now. i know i can do it in my driveway, on crushed stone in probably an hour at the most....

spring/bolt kit???
ok all, i had my van to a garage today to fix a simple donut gasket leak. they claim that my y pipe takes a spring kit. is this true? the autozone doesn't show one, and i don't remember ever taking them off from the start. i need some help../.....

Re: very strange........
well, i had the cap and button off it. cleaned it up a bit, although there was only minor corrosion in the cap. that made no difference. so lastnight i put a different ign module in the dist, that made no difference. Maybe where it ran out of gas, the fuel filter plugged up, she'll catch when i got ...

you all ain't gonna believe this. the other night i took the rims and tires off the stro' and put them on the safari, put a bit of gas in the astro, then it wouldn't start. worked a 1 when i parked it there. it'll start if i hold er' to the floor, but once i let off it dies out. almost as if it was ...

Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......
Well, here's what i got figured out. My first appt is with mr transmission who tells me they will give me a free diagnostic on my tranny. after that is complete, my next stop will be cottman transmission. of course cottman will not know that i just previously went to a competitor. we'll see what goe...

Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......
i was actually dumb enough not to get any of my fixed stuff back the first time. actually the first 2 times. they said they'd scan it for me. aren't they nice?
i'm thinking of taking it to a competitor that says they will scan a tranny for free.

Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......
got it back this afternoon. it still shifts hard, and that noise i said i had, they told me that it was my shroud hitting my fan. which is total bull. oh well, nasty noise is gone for now. they told me to drive it for a bit because where everything is new it had to break in. that is why it's shiftin...

Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......
yuppers, major noises. as soon as i left the place with the van, and i noticed it still shifted hard. i called them and they said to give it the weekend to "settle down" cuz it had to break in. it's breakin' in alright, just without the in'.

Re: Hard shifting WAS a problem.......
WELL, i took my transmission to Cottmans. BIG MISTAKE. i was sure that if i took it to a "tranny place", it would have been good as new. the ONLY difference is i have all of my gears. they told me that they had to rebuild it including the converter. now it grinds in first like it did befor...
