Re: Question for you AWD pro's
On the RWD's you can switch the engine mounts sides for the V8 to mount up, any idea if it works on the AWD's?

Re: Question for you AWD pro's
LOL you guys always put a smile on my face
Unfortunately we have moved to a small useless city that only has 1 super duper over priced wrecking yard + you need way more HP to have fun with an AWD.
Long story short... the van will be rwd with a V8 by winter hopefully

Question for you AWD pro's
Just picked up a FREE 90' AWD with an aweful noise in the front end and an oil burner engine... of course this means war on the van and a V8 swap soon..... The front diff is fubared internally and i'm not about to bother fixing it.... my question is to jam a "stock" V8 into this van do I n...

Re: Turbocharging a 4.3L CPI engine???
Yes it is a VNT turbo... I don't have the ECM to run it though so I have set it to stay wide open. I think it's off a 06-08 6.6L Duramax Diesel. You want it? I've been instructed by my "better half" to "leave that damn van alone, get another one if you want to play with them".......

Re: Turbocharging a 4.3L CPI engine???
I wonder how big of a turbo is too big.... just got a FREE Garett turbo off a Chevy 6.6L TD. It was a "warranty" return, guy claims it wasn't making enough boost and wanted it switched to the "new" style turbo. I know it would likely spool pretty quickly but may produce way too m...

Re: Turbocharging a 4.3L CPI engine???
I'm still pretty new to this CPI crap....lol So if you add boost to the intake the computer will auto adjust the fuel pressure (to a point of course). I know "most" stock engines will take 7psi but i probaby won't run more then 5ish. 97TurboAstro... how much boost are you running? I'd love...

Re: Turbocharging a 4.3L CPI engine???
Questioning as my van is CPI and his is the newer MPI.
My van still runs a map sensor but no MAF that I can find on it.
Goes from air cleaner to TB to Intake with no other sensors that I can find.

Re: Bad News on my safari :-(
Ok so after some research i found that the newer (96+) vans runs a weee bit higher pressure (about 5-10psi) so i opted to get it from work (at cost). Got it all installed and primed and took a drive... holy mother of !@#$..... that made a HUGE difference in power. Took the computer about 15-20 mins ...

Re: Turbocharging a 4.3L CPI engine???
I guess I should update my SIG... the new van is a 1995 GMC Safari 2wd with CPI injection. I'm planning to mount both turbos at the collectors (1 on each side) and use an oil return pump (no holes in the oil pan that way :D). Are you sure the regulator is in the intake? I'm not sure, but I don't thi...

Re: Bad News on my safari :-(
Yup i'm a moron who loves to drop the fuel tank....hahahahaha
The pump I put in yesterday only has 12-17psi.... CPI requires 70-95psi.
Now I have to wait till Monday to get the part from work.
