Bad News on my safari :-(
Van stranded me last night... narrowed it down to the fuel pump being toast. Dropped the tank and changed the pump today.... cranked over fine for a few times but now the engine won't crank at all. Last night i used some starting fluid in an attempt to get it to start, it kind of ran on that but sou...

Turbocharging a 4.3L CPI engine???
Is it possible to just add boost into the intake on a CPI injection van (obviosly with more fuel, etc). It's a type of direct injection unlike a carb or tbi that meters air/fuel together. I figured a pair of dodge 2.2L turbos should be enough to feed the engine 5-7psi safely. Most stock engines will ...

Re: 6.0 into 2wd 95 safari van.. anyone done it?
By measurements the 6.0 should almost drop in like it was meant to be there. Vats is no problem as i have pretty much any part i feel like ripping off the truck. Wiring should be a snap as i've got the entire wiring harness from teh wrecked truck to salvage. I will have to disable airbags and teh ab...

Re: 6.0 into 2wd 95 safari van.. anyone done it?
Hardest thing for me in any swap is coming up with the cash for the engine and trans.... after that, smooth sailing. I have this knack for figuring things out as I go along and usually the end result turns out pretty good. I have to check around but I think i'm gonna mount this engine using a front ...

Re: 6.0 into 2wd 95 safari van.. anyone done it?
the 6.0 peaks my interest mainly because you can stuff a large engine in the stock bay without having distributor clearance issues unlike an old school BBC. I'm going to look at this 6.0 tomorrow... unfortunately the engine is already pulled so all i can do is a compression test. It only has 25,000 ...

6.0 into 2wd 95 safari van.. anyone done it?
Just wondering if anyone has done a 6.0L into a 2wd van yet?
I have the option to get either the "normal" 5.7L tbi engine or a 6.0L mpfi engine with computer and wiring.
I'd like to do the 6.0 but im unsure of how it would mount.

Re: 95 cpi to 5.7L mpi - need help
Personally The only thing I like about MPI is the "easy to boost" fact apposed to tbi or carb being a major pain in the arse.
I will most likely just go backwards to tbi as i have lokdocs writeup on it... even i can handle that wiring :P

Re: 95 cpi to 5.7L mpi - need help
I always had issues with my tbi vans... rough idle, running realllllly rich when cold and hesitation when at normal temp. This CPI van though.... when you say go it really gets up and goes. This particular engine has the neatest sound when you gun it... i'll have to get a vid for you guys some day w...

95 cpi to 5.7L mpi - need help
I am contemplating either turboing my existing 4.3L or dropping in a mpi 5.7L v8. The van right now is cpi injection (which sucks) so it's either go backwards to tbi (thanks to lockdocs writeup) or go really far back to carbed or jump into the 21st century and go full blown multiport injection. My p...

Re: 95 4.3L CPI to 5.7 TBI is it possible?
No I read the post, what i'm not clear on is what to do about using an older TBI engine with my newer 95 trans which is different then any other year. Should I just use an older 4l60e or switch to a 700r4? For that matter does the vans computer control the trans or is there a seperate controller som...

Reason I ask about the 95 yr specifically if that the transmissions are different for 95 then any other year.
