Re: lowering kit parts, what to get?
have you used a bolt on c-notch kit before? I planned on bolting on the c-notch, then cut out the rail, then weld the bolt-on notch just to make it secure.SoCalli V8 wrote: I definately recommend C-Notching your chassis rails.
also has anyone tried a c-notch without having the body off?

what is this part called?
I believe I have a leak at this thing but I have no idea what it is called to replace it. hopefully you guys know and can help me out. It looks like some kind of vaccum piece but I'm not sure. The hoses come from the water pump to the heater core. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v629/sol1993r/Astr...

lowering kit parts, what to get?
Hello everyone, I have a 95 Astro with the steel leafs in the rear. I have the drop spindles from DJM and the lowered shocks but I still need springs up front, looking at the Eibach springs 2" drop or Ground Force 2" drop, and either a flip kit or lowered leafs in the rear. My question is:...

Re: Tire choices w/ 5" lift
what lift kit did you go with? I have a '95 RWD Astro and I think I'm going with the Overlandvans or the Boondox kit. is there any other choices for lift kits?T.Low wrote: My lift kit is in the mail.

Re: dead battery
you can test the alternator pretty easy. take a voltage reading of the battery with the van off (should be 11-12volts or close to that). then start the van and take another voltage reading (should be around 13.5 - 14.4volts). if your battery reading with the van running is the same as the van off th...

Are you sure you need the Dexclog. My late 95 came with the regular old green stuff from the factory. I checked around and everywhere I've looked reccomends the Dexcool stuff. the stuff I pulled out of the van was an orangish color. I went ahead and put the Prestone Dexcool coolant in, not the prem...

I'll be doing the ground upgrade and possibly upgrading the power wire. I haven't looked to see how bad it will be on my 95 Astro but it shouldn't be too different then yours. maybe I'll attempt this project this weekend, along with doing the brakes and changing the tranny fluid. I'll take some pics...

I think socaliV8 has a set of these for sale .. they are known as 'composite headlights' i think. then all you'd need is a grill. they really smooth out the look of the front end I was looking at the projector style headlights. I plan on doing some work this weekend on the van, maybe I'll put the g...

95 Astro front end conversion
my 95 Astro has the 7"x6" headlights but the wide turn signals. I want to convert the front end to the newer style headlights. looking at pictures it looks like all I would need is the headlights and a new grille. I don't know if the newer headlights will bolt into anything behind where th...

taillight filler plates for 95 Astro
I have found filler plates to shave the door handles and gas door and whatnot but I can't find filler plates for the taillights. are they the same as the full size chevy pickups? they kinda look the same. I found a guy on Ebay thet says he can make them but hasn't emailed me back. anyone have though...
