yes and yes. the sealed beam is dated plus I want to put in HID's. If I get the newer lights I would have to do alot of modifications to mount the new lights in correct?

I have the sealed beam square looking headlight with the turn signal below it. the turn signal is wide and rectangle. the grille in the Ebay add isn't going to be too much different then the ones out there are they? I found a couple more last night but they look the same, only exception is if it is ...

headlight conversion for a '95 Astro?

I have a '95 Astro with the rectangle sealed beam headlights. is there a conversion kit out there so I can put in the newer style headlights without too much modifications? I would like a set of projectors instead of the sealed beams.

Phantom grille for a '95 Astro?

I've seen a grille that covers the whole area from headlight to headlight and wanted to know where I can get one. I think they call it a Phantom grille. here it is on an Astro on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevrolet-Astro-1995-Chevrolet-Astro-Mini-Van-Custom-low-rider_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcat...

I'm sure people here on the forums have had mixed results with all types of oil. trial and error I guess. I keep looking at the driveway waiting to see some kind of leak, but so far nothing yet.

well I went with the Napa Gold filter and the Valvoline Maxlife oil. we'll see what happens. it couldn't be any worse then the black tar that was in it before.

the radiator cap has been replaced with a brand new one and I got a new thermostat while I was at it.

I'll look for the drains under the engine, I think I remember seeing them and wondering what they were for.

thanks for all the info!

thabks for the detailed reply. I was looking at the Fram oil filter so I will look at the Napa one or the Purolator. I was always worried about going to synthetic oil on a higher mileage motor, I heard that the synthetic oil wil leak easier on motors that haven't used synthetic before. any truth to ...

high mileage oil, worth it?

to start I normally don't change my own oil, that's what dealerships and quick lube places are for, and I haven't for the past 16 years. so that being said: my '95 Astro has 150,000+ miles on it and I'm doing the tune-up thing and was looking at the high mileage engine oils and wanted to know if the...

'95 Astro antifreeze suggestions

anyone have a reccomendation of what type of antifreeze to use in my '95 Astro? I know I should use a Dex-Cool type but will it matter from Prestone, Peak, ect...?

any one I should stay away from, besides a non-Dex-Cool based antifreeze?

I don't know if you were serious about what is missing in the engine compatmrnt but if you are, you are missing the air box and filter, the tube from the air box to the throttle body, the IAT sensor (Intake Air Temp), coolant overflow and wiper fluid containers. I was kidding. so far I replaced the...

you need some more on the wall with the amps, maybe some inserts that light up or something, it's a little plain. I like the DD gauges.

looking good so far.
