Re: Location of the EGR valve on 1991 Astro Ext Rwd?
Awesome! I thought that was the egr valve but i had read that some were located to the left the thermostat housing. Any tips on cleaning it out? I know i need to get a screened gasket after reading other posts.

Location of the EGR valve on 1991 Astro Ext Rwd?
Sorry guys but I'm not 100% sure where this EGR valve is? I need to clean it and put the new gasket in but it's hard to do the work when you don't know where the part is haha.
Thanks in advance everyone!

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Are fan clutches pretty simple to replace? Do you think that's what I should be looking at? At least id know if it was not the clutch it would be the rad.
As far as the oil goes what do you think would be the best for the van? 5-30 or 10-30?

95 AWD Safari sounds like its surging?
So my buddy just went to pick his van up from his mechanic(he doesnt like to work on vans for some reason). He dropped it off because once you start it, it sounds like it tries to die or surges. The rpms drop and the engine literally sounds like its coughing, revving high then all the way down then ...

Re: On the verge of overheating going up hills?
So I got the new t stat in, I believe it may have fixed my problem. My old t stat had been cut out so I was worried until today when I made it up Mt.Hood with no issues at 65mph the whole way! But with that being said I have some questions. My van is a 91 so my temp gauge does not show what degree e...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
So I got out to driving the van around town a little bit this morning. Since I replaced the t-stat the temp gauge warms up to about half way and stays there expect when I am driving over 30mph it was slightly lower due to more air flow I believe? Anyways I am not 100% sure of the temp on my van beca...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?
Just put a new thermostat in the van today. Got to the old one to realize someone either had cut it out or it broke apart. Anyone have any idea of why that may have been cut off or broke apart? http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb353/Derek939/IMG_8599.jpg Old Thermostat before I pulled it out http...

Can a 1977 Ford 460 motor fit in the astro?
Ive got a 1977 F-350 Camper special with a good motor I have been considering swapping over once my v-6 goes. Anyone know if the 460 will fit? Never done an engine swap before and figured you guys here would be the best to come ask.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Odd vibrations on my 91 only occuring in Drive at a stop
Motor mounts do not look so hot. My van seems to sag slightly in front as well could that have something to do with the motor mounts or is that the suspension?
Whats the best way to go about replacing motor mounts? Any suggestions?
Thanks
