Re: 1997 Safari

Thanks sfeaver. That was the part I picked up today at the GM dealer. Told the guy at the parts counter what the blower fan was doing and he said he would be right back. He opened the box and there was the same part you posted. He even showed me the template in the box to mount the new style. So wit...

Re: 1997 Safari

Yes I checked there and it shows it on the firewall above the blower but not there on a 1997. The wires go into the AC coil.

1997 Safari

The son is driving the safari now and came home the other night and turned off the van and the blower motor kept running. I have pulled the 30amp fuse for now to stop the fan from running. I am on call tonight and just got home to take another look. The blower wires go into the evaporator housing. B...

The last couple of times when I have been in it and fillled it up from 1/4 to full I have put in about $80 worth. Yesterday I was at just over 1/2 a tank and put in $35 worth and that took it to the filler neck. I keep telling the kids not to let it go under 1/2 a tank but who listens to their fathe...

Well here is the update. Van has been fine for a few weeks. Daughter takes it out the other night and the son has left the tank under 1/4 tank again. She calls saying it is stalling again. She gets it home and I take it down to the garage and fill it up and all has been fine. So the last time it was...

He has just gone to Burlington with it by the highway and am waiting for his report. No phone calls yet so all must...

The times it has stalled on me was after it had been running for awhile. The dealer had left it over night and it stalled as the drove it into the shop. I just got home and the van has not moved everyone does not trust it now and keeps taking the wifes car. I will have to take it out and give it a g...

Gm mounted a pressure gauge inside with the dog house off and said everything was fine. That when it stalled the fuel pump was putting out just fine. I was think that if anything they would have hit me for a fuel pump because of the cost but did not. I even asked him to change the fuel filter and he...

Thanks Peter. I need all the luck I can get. When the GM dealer tells you they can't find out why it is stalling after having the van for 4 days you start to think what can I find that they didn't. They tested the fuel pump and filter and all the other common stuff. The van didn't not show any codes...

97 Safari stalling

I had my altenator changed out by the GM dealer last week and have had the van back to the dealer the same day for stalling. They had it for 4 days and checked everything. I picked it up on Friday and on the way home it stalled. You are just driving along and all of a sudden there is no power and th...
