The reason it will roll is the viscous coupling in the t-case will allow the t-case to differentiate or slip with out the front driveshaft in. Just park level or use the parking brake. 90 Safari with excessive idle speed .

For some time my 90 Safari has been plagued with a high idle speed that I can't seem to reduce . Believe its caused by a sensor or something of sort and don't know where to start with this issue . Can someone point me in the direction . Thanks for your timely response.

Since you have removed the front drive section, the van WILL roll on hills when parked! Be sure to either use wheel chocks or set the parking brake. This info is greatly appreciated but confuses me on why the transmission will be affected with not locking in park .?? Can you elaborate for a dumbass...

Guess you can figure an original canuck just around to share some experiences with my high miler 90 Safari "has been" AWD. Kinda had a liking for these vans for years . Good to find additional interests , eh . LOL
