Exhaust rattle when idling

Had a very loud rattling noise coming from the exhaust system(roughly from mid to rear of van)when stopped in gear but it disappeared in neutral. Wasn't the exhaust shield or the catalytic converter. Replaced the two most rear rubber exhaust hangers and rattle is gone. Simple fix for anyone else wit...

Re: Anyone have beds in your van?

I have a simple bed made from 2x4's and a sheet of plywood.Made the bed higher so I could fit in my shelving underneath so it is a bit snug and unfortunately I can't read in bed but it is comftorable. It all comes apart easily.Lived in my van for 4 months quite happily. Damn I thought I had the high...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Changed my transmission fluid and filter today. Again thank-you to all those that have gone before and posted there tips and tricks :supz: I knew to get the right filter (deep pan) and not to stress if I couldn't get the grommet out easily so I left it in.No leaks and the shifts seem even smoother n...

Re: What did you do to/with your van today?

Changed my spark plugs and wires.I researched the job using this site and some other online resources and everything went well.I started with the #5 plug and went from there. It seems this is a "rite of passage" for owners of this van.Thank-you to all those that have gone before and posted ...

Re: Spare wheel hoist

I am not sure if you could just replace the wire.Luckily I didn't have to do this but when I bought my van the spare was missing and the wire was frayed and broken.I was able to get a used replacement spare and hoist included in the purchase price of the van from the used car dealer. I guess it is v...

Spare wheel hoist

2001 Safari....lowered the spare wheel and removed it from the hoist so I could paint it to prevent further rusting.Wound it up without the spare tire on the hoist so the wire wouldn't be dangling. Went to lower the hoist when the spare was ready to be reinstalled and the hoist wouldnt lower. Tried ...

Re: busted arm rest

My driver seat armrest also broke after I sat on it.Wouldn't support my elbow.I was able to exchange the driver armrest for the RH armrest on the second row bench seat. But will still need to find a way to fix the broken armrest.I took a picture of the part that is broken to show others what it looks...
