Re: 96' cargao astro, soon to be V8

Beautiful truck, Vance. I'm anxious to see it finished! As well, it simply blows me away how much technology has advanced in regards to paint. Solid colours were the only choice. Then they came out with mini-metalflake paint. Then those big flakes we saw so much of in the 70's. Then pearl-type pain...

Hey how do you like that tubing notcher? I bought the same one (I believe) for my brother-in-law for christmas. He has yet to use it though because he has just bought a house, so that's taking priorty over his automotive projects.

Re: Wooden supercar?

Ok, so I finished my wood epoxy kayak, what shall I build now? Wait a second, are you saying you built a wood epoxy kayak? or did the guy in the article build a wood kayak? If you built the wood kayak, I would be interested in seeing pics of that (and the build process if possible) I have thought a...

Re: FUll HID conversion kit for 1990 Astro

Wow! This post couldn't have come at a better time for me. I was just noticing that my headlights have water inside them and I had planned on replacing them, but was wondering if there was a HID kit for the earlier model vans. Looking forward to the before and after pics. I'm with Gary on this, what...

Well that's good to hear.
We don't have emissions testing where I live, other counties in Florida do though. And although we don't have it, I'm curious as to how my van would do. Wonder if I could just drive to another county and get it checked out?

Isn't that were people go to sit on summer evenings?
That's correct, But I believe the LS1 Porches would be more suited for sitting during autumn or winter evenings. just start that bad boy up and it provides it's own heat! :D

Re: Second row captians chair install. A tutorial of sorts...

Nice write up- what seats are those ? Fronts from an Astro ? Thanks for the compliment sir! They are from a 93 Astro that came with middle row captains chairs. I made the "mistake" of originally purchasing front seats for this swap only to realize that the middle row seatbelt setup is tot...

Thanks for the replies guys! The rain stopped, so I got to it again. Lucky for me, the rain gave the drill battery time to charge. So out to the van, drilled out the four bolt holes and ... http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p219/astronut74/captains%20chair%20install/DSC00040.jpg Perfect fit! A view...

Second row captians chair install. A tutorial of sorts...

This seems to be a fairly common mod, but I searched and didn't see any tutorial, so I thought I'd give it a shot. At this time, it's not completed (freakin' rain!) but with luck, by the end of the day, I'll have at least one seat bolted in. The second seat, the one behind the driver, is directly ab...

I would love to move back to North Carolina, They have some of the best weather ( you actually get to see all four seasons!!) The winters aren't bad (unless you live in the mountains), Just enough to allow you to appreciate it, Summers aren't too bad, though it can get a little humid -- nothing wors...

but it still won't idle & dies when put in gear You know, I had a 91 Mazda MX6 that did the same thing. I doubt it's the same culprit as here, but I'll thow it out there any ways... Every time I came to a stop, I had to throw it in nuetral so it wouldn't die, as soon as I put it in gear, I had ...

Re: Dynamat. How much is needed?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they still sell the cascade brand. I remember seeing it in my Parts Express catalog, but your right, it isn't cheap!
Just a quick look at the prices it looks more expensive than the dynamat.
