Re: pocket bikes

your float needle may be worn and not seating properly. or possibly the float level may not be adjusted properly. do you have a service manual for it? If so, it should list the spec for float height as well as how to properly measure the float height. Also, swapping parts from other carbs may not be...

Re: Could You Pass the Citizenship Test?

I got this same thing in an email today. I missed a couple, but only the ones that I didn't go with my first instinct on.

Re: Another gas thread.... sorta... ethanol questions.

In a engine designed primarily for gas, ethanol will return lower mpg than gas, but when the engine is designed for ethanol it will almost match. While this may be true, our engines were designed to run on gas, otherwise, wouldn't they be a "flex fuel" vehicle? I have absolutely no proble...

Re: Another gas thread.... sorta... ethanol questions.

Thanks for confirming that.
So, is there a reason for putting it in there?
The ethanol gas around here is no cheaper than the regular gas, so I guess, I'll just have to drive around a little more to find the "good" stuff.

Another gas thread.... sorta... ethanol questions.

Has anyone here noticed a drop in MPH when using ethanol "laced" gasoline? Gas with ethanol just started showing up in my area in the past couple years. A few months ago, my mom was complaining about a decrease in mileage using gas with ethanol. I didn't pay any real attention to her thoug...

Re: Gas door latch

I'm pretty sure that this would help: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/tools/cable_luber Well, that, plus some cable lube. You will have to take the cable off the van and let it hang vertically. Clamp the tool to the top part of the cable and squirt the lubricant through to the bottom of the cabl...

Re: Polish and Wax and detailing

Sadly... Never. I have vacuumed it and washed the outside, but I have never waxed or polished. The main reason is the van is in need of a new paint job. There is no clear coat on the roof any more and I'm getting a light coat of suface rust. The hood is in virtually the same condition. Seems kinda s...

Re: Need suggestions for weatherstripping sources

Gwendolyn, you are my hero! I have been looking for those window scrapers for a while now. I went to the dealer and they looked at me like I was stupid! He had no clue what I was talking about and I even pointed to it on another vehicle! I wondered if the other trucks would fit the astro's, but neve...

Re: Locking gas caps

I have a locking gas cap on my van. I got it because someone DID steal my gas (my gas door is gone, so the cap is out for the whole world to see) Since then, no one has stolen my gas, even though the locking mechanism quit working over a year ago. It doesn't matter though, people see that it has a l...

Re: Anything to do in Phoenix, AZ ??

There's the Grand Canyon, the Meteorite Crater, 4 Corners All very good In my opinion. Definitly don't skip the Grand Canyon. In Phoenix they have a pretty big mall ( sorry don't know the name of it) that has a roller coaster. At least I think it's still there... I'll have to ask my dad, he lives i...

While that is a sweet setup, I can imagine it would fetch a pretty penny getting one. Especially since the company that makes them is in Australia :yikes: (imagine the shipping on that thing!!) I wonder if there is a comparable company stateside.... I'll have to check into that later..

NO, You must use double flare fittings on brake lines. No stainless or copper. If you get into an accident a good lawyer will have your A$$. I understood this to be the case as well. I have used compression fittings before with no problems, but I also didn't keep the car long afterwards. When I was...
