I cut myself on the manifold shield replacing the plugs that I see in the picture, only it was on a V6. I can only imagine what kind of contortions you would have to go through to change them on a V8.

Darren , If you do a search of your name (SoCalli V8) on A/S.com you will find out that everthing from 2003 and most of 2004 is already lost. I'm sad to hear that! That really sucks. Sounds nice. As long as you plan on not crowding the back with anything (everything accessible from the back entrance), I'd weld the slider shut. But then I suppose this reply really belongs in the customized section :-$

the holes to cut are prestamped on the floor of your van, so yeah, you'll probably have to cut them out, but you already have the lines drawn.

My DH says that the cups will have to be then bolted or rivetted into place.

You would have to make it water tight if you do that Dean to keep the mud and junk out of there. We all know how that coal mud is. Making it watertight shouldn't be too terribly hard. he only has to cut holes for the cables themselves if he were to put it under the driver's seat. Or am I way off he...
