Re: Newbie sellers ....yes or no ???

I voted yes - lets face it - you can take the effort to post 10 times if you want to sell your van - thats easy - but it does show a little bit of commitment. I mean hell this counts as one right?

Re: awwww man........

You can always use a heavy guage jumper cable to check the ground - just temporarily attach it to something good and solid bolted to the motor, and the batt... just trouble shooting idea

Re: How to fix a twitching gas guage

My 2001 does it also - in this cold blast we've been having when I leave the van to idol it actually goes all the way down and turns on the low gas light - normally (when not -25C) it only twitches. I myself have NO idea why it does this - but I don't really care.... if it's an easy fix let me know ...

Re: What connectors does the stock am/fm radio have?

I tired to do that however it seems that GM factory databus screws with a simple addition of a aux input - the "decks" actually talk to each other and it is not just a simple matter of adding a pair or RCA inputs of 1/8" stereo jack - just my opinion - I bet there is a way to trick th...

Re: Want to buy 99-00 astro, 2WD or AWD, mpg issue?

I can post the details of my vans mileage for the last few tanks if you wish - I track them all - but the basics are 15 MPG city - tops.... probably closer to 14 and I have been as bad as 12. Highway I have been as good as 19+ (and if your talking hills - I got them Banff, AB to Invermere, BC, and b...

Re: Gas door latch

Don't forget silicone lube is your friend in freezing conditions - that crap is great for lots of applications - not just weather stripping - its funny actually because my 2001 doesn't have a locking gas door.... FYI

Re: Warm up quick.

Potskie - I also have to deal with cold weather - the starter might be good - programmed to start the van every few hours to keep it warm - aka a high end starter - but how about a garage - plain and simple - and heat it! Thats what I do - vehicles only ever get to about 5 centigrade - and are good ...

Re: You can run your AstroSafari on propane gas....But why?

Propane powered vehicles work just fine - infact great! But you do have to pay to get it done properly - different heads, valves, for example - bigger issue is where the hell do you install a large propane tank in an Astro? I have drove many propane powered vehicles, and there probably is a cost adv...

Re: What connectors does the stock am/fm radio have?

basically none - what you would probably want if you would like to keep the stock deck is to add a wired FM transmitter such as http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/Shop/Control/Product/fp/vpid/1613445/vpcsid/0/SFV/30046/sret/1417182132222132162812202252822292842232202872282252922272262372342392282392...

Re: good deal or not so good??

the AWD system is no big deal - as long as they are serviced - the front axle, and transfer case - other than that it is basically the same as a RWD. The only other item that is of note is you HAVE to run tires that are the same size front and rear with basically the same wear. So you cannot just pu...

Re: good deal or not so good??

When I got my 2001 thats the first thing I did with it - service the AWD and diffs. Sure enough the wrong fluid was in the transfer case - so out it went and in went the blue goo. Don't forget you will take a slight hit in fuel economy with the AWD, but it's sure nice in the snow - just don't forget...

Re: Adding a second battery?

So has anyone done the second battery drop through the floor? I was thinking if only using for a secondary battery such as for assistance with addition power for an RV, or plug in accessories then placing this battery in the rear near the factory trailer wiring harness might be an option, as a +12V ...
