Re: ScanGuage II on Princess

I don't know if tranny temps for a 97 are supported. I think (from reading previous forum posts) that the tranny temp sender is only in 99 and later models.... not sure - does anyone know for sure? One thing I can confirm is for a 2001 Astro the tranny temp works with the codes provided on scanguage...

Re: ScanGuage II on Princess

Hey Scott, I think that place in Ottawa that you bought the guage was http://www.giffordautomotive.com/ . I bought mine from I think it was Tom over there, great service, fast shipping. I would recommend him in an instant. As for the guage I bought it primarily for the tranny temp function, and as a...

Re: Anyone know the speaker size

I haven't replaced mine yet - but my understanding is that they are 4" x 6" speakers. http://www.crutchfield.com has a what fits calculator on their website that is handy. So far it has been bang on for everything else - I can confirm that to be true with everything BUT the rear pilar spea...

Re: Polish and Wax and detailing

I just did mine in the weekend, used Turtle Wax - paste. As for why Turtle wax - it was because I had it. I usually buy what ever wax is on sale, I just bought some Mothers Carnuba and did my car this weekend also - but I didn't really like it that much - next time I'll go back to a different wax - ...

Re: Gas mileage

My 2001 AWD gets about 14L/100km highway, sometime I can inch out a bit better, but thats average - which translates to about 16.8 miles ger gallon. So your number sounds about right, I would think a 2WD should get 1 maybe 2 MPG better. :canuk:

Re: anyone use zoom browser EX?

Irfanview is also a free little awesome program - once you have uploaded you photos you can simply use some default resize(s) in the menu - or pretty much anything else you can think of! But I have to ask why use Zoom Browser at all? Just use windows, or Apple, or google's Picasa application... to u...

Re: Steering Issues

Well I found the problem - YIPPEE - it was a seized Idler Arm - so a trip down to the local partsource and I got a pair of life time warranty TRW - I know not Moog - but the best price I could find up here on Moogs was $168 each and Spicers for $175. Who cares they will replace them if they go bad.....

Re: Steering Issues

Does anyone have a service manual with the torque specifications for the drag link - that POS Haynes manual I have of course doesn't have any AWD specific information.... while I'm at it how about the tie-rod end - they are up next... at least I can torque them to the same spec as the 2wd and I have...

Re: Need to install a Tach

I've got one of these scanguages and they work slick - tach right out of the box - a quick program tranny temp was working great. I think however the tranny temp only works with newer vans. Not sure when the cut off is but I imagine it's probably something like 98+ Does anyone else with a scanguage ...
