OK, haven't been in here in awhile. The new sensor is in and I'm starting my first full tank. The slight stumble when its cold seems to be gone so that could be one benefit. I'll update when I have the results on this tank of fuel. Incidentally, when my fuel gauge is showing only one red left, I can...

I think that I would be careful tampering with the airbag setup. They are designed for specific applications and even small changes could have big ramifications. Bag size, deployment speed, distance to driver...each vehicle might be different.

Still haven't had an opportunity. My wife works A LOT and I don't get too many breaks from my young ones. I had the whole Canada Day weekend to myself but I didn't have the van. )>) I've got a few hours this afternoon, maybe I'll get it done today... I've also been wondering if my tranny is shifting...

No problem. I think its the pass side that gets flipped around. I'm not a genius. When I was assembling mine I thought I had two for the same side so I walked across the road to a construction site and got one of the guys there to drill a hole in the "proper" spot, only to realize during a...

Also, If you do this swap, make sure to use 7/8 wheel cylinders. The 11" drums came with 7/8 and 1" cylinders. I used the 1" the first time and had lots of problems with my proportioning valve. The 7/8 is the same as the stock drums and the proportioning valve won't know the differenc...

Actually, I'm going to disagree and say that the parts guy didn't screw up. I've done this swap and I thought the same thing. V8famvan got backing plates for he and I at the junk yard and I thought that he accidentally gave me two for the same side. So I went to the junkyard. Turns out the Caprices ...

Sorry I haven't updated this. I have purchased a 3 wire sensor. It is from a later model Astro. According to the parts store, GM used the same three wire sensor in the v6 and v8 trucks during much of the 90's. I haven't got around to installing it yet because I want to get a three wire connector fro...

headers and 3" exhaust. O2 is single wire and has been replaced since the swap. Thing is though, for the first year, I ran the stock truck manifolds bolted to the stock astro exhaust and the gas mileage was about the same. The headers and new exhaust helped power (and sound) but not fuel econom...

Thanks for the reply. Injectors are fine. Nice even cone spray. They are stock from the suburban that the motor came from. Cam is a mild one, better torque numbers but nothing outrageous. TBIChips guy told me that he thinks its the cam that the motor should have come with stock. Timing checked and b...
