Re: need a list of carburated 4.3 vehicles
I was looking on rockauto and it looks like the 4.3 was introduced in 1985 and was only carb'd in the astro in 85, and fullsize pickups/blazers/vans in 85 and 86. It was also in the caprice and elcamino but it was tbi.

Re: need a list of carburated 4.3 vehicles
I don't think there ever was a carbed 4.3 in an s-10, the early ones had a 2.8 v6 until the late 80's after fuel injection was introduced.

Re: need a list of carburated 4.3 vehicles
I have seen them in '85 astro/safari's, 85-86 fullsize chevy/gmy pickups, and fullsize vans I assume the same years as the trucks but I don't know for sure. I would think that a base model caprice probably did as well, but I am not sure.

Re: Unflip a flip kit!
You will need the stock clamshell bracket and bolts/u-bolts to flip the axle back over. For stock height you would need to take out the spacers on the front of the spring and reinstall the stock shackles in the rear. If you just put the axle part back to stock, you would end up with a couple inches ...

Re: front end conversion(older van----newer clip)
The hood cable will work it is just stretched tight. The holes are already there for the plastic fender extensions.

I think you would need a cable similar to this one.

Re: front end conversion(older van----newer clip)
The wheel well part actually gets trimmed back as shown in this picture. The same goes for the passenger side and a hole gets drilled to let the coolant overflow bottle to fit in.

Re: front end conversion(older van----newer clip)
The wheel well itself doesn't change, I only needed it to replace some damage on the passenger side. The picture shows what you want to get, if it is easier you really only need a few inches. This picture is from when Devin converted his, I think it shows how much of the inner fender you need. http:...

Re: front end conversion(older van----newer clip)
Logan, thanks for highlighting the differences between the two frames. S10-den, yes I ground out the area marked with the marker for the second bolt, the other bolt is in a larger hole that I used a nut and bolt with washers to attach, the second original bolt goes in the threaded hole near the fend...

Re: front end conversion(older van----newer clip)
I think that part of it is the age of the vans, my 89 I think is the last year of the original style frame. It does not have that square metal bracket on the inside of the tubing and the holes are not even the right spacing for the new brackets. I ended cutting that inch of the front of the frame ho...

Re: pics of progress on my summer project ('91 c1500)
SoCalli, your van is what inspired me to go with those wheels for the truck. What size tires do you use, the truck has 245-40-20 which is about 28" tall, definitely too big for the front of my van. I think the 18's are about perfect for the lowered astros, 20's must have some really short sidew...

pics of progress on my summer project ('91 c1500)
I thought I would share a few pics of the progress on my brothers pickup. It has a 4/6 DJM drop, bilstein shocks, American Racing IROC replicas, 20x8. http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j244/deanneshem/picture256.jpg http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j244/deanneshem/picture264.jpg Hopefully I will ge...

Re: Astro overhead console replacement.
Check out the pics on my cardomain, the holes for the front are already there, the hardest part is getting the nerve to cut holes in the headliner.http://www.cardomain.com/ride/474499/2
