Re: More details for my 350 vortec please!!.

I thought vortec heads had all of the intake manifold bolts oriented straight up and down. The tbi vintage heads have the four center bolts vertical and the rest canted, and the older heads all of the bolts were canted.

Re: What year did the factory window tint color change?

Your van would be fairly easy to switch, I got the pair of windows from the pull and save for under 30 bucks. The rear ones take a while to get out but it isn't that bad, I think it is worth buying the tool to make cutting them out easier though.

Re: pic sof your other rides?

That blazer is really clean. I have always liked the 83-84 grills the best on these trucks, but I am a little biased. :yawinkle:

Re: What year did the factory window tint color change?

After some more junkyard searching, it looks like the color changed in 1994, so if I get lucky I will find a '94 short van with dark tint some day, other wise I have a set of clear ones to get tinted. I finally got around to getting a picture of the difference today as well. http://i82.photobucket.c...

Re: Swapping Headlights Help

As long as you have the pigtails for the composite lights and the bolts that hold them to the core support it should be no problem.

Re: Swapping Headlights Help

On my '89 the wire colors all matched up, the only difference was the two grounds.

Re: Lousy turning radius.

The spindles are very different on the two vans, the six lug vans use a bearing like an awd drive van that bolts to the spindle unlike the older vans that use the conventional repackable bearings. I think that these changes as well as more convervative steering lock placement (the old vans will let ...

Re: bumper skirt

I think suicidedoor86? or someone else said that they cut down the ends of the old bumper and added the holes to attach the new style cover. I would think that the only part that would be different for you would be that the bumper would need to be off of a later first gen van so that the brackets to...

I am pretty sure that is a Silverado front end (03-07), not the Colorado one. The Colorado has the turn signals above the headlights. I would love to see the finished product though. :supz:

Re: RamJet 350 Swap

:supz: Those are great photos that you posted so far. That is one super clean van! I would love to know some more details about the rest of the van as well. It seems to be a very rare/custom optioned van with the LT door panels and regular seats, as well as being a '94 short van.

Driving/fog lights where did you mount them

I miss the extra lights that were in the lower air dam on the old style front end, plus I don't like having an extra switch to nothing on the dash. Post up where you put the extra lights on your van. Right now I think the best prospect is next to the license plate in the bumper or maybe behind the g...

Re: planning exterior paint project...

I really like the black around the windows, so much so that I painted the space between the barn doors in the back. I think that the black around the windows makes the van look longer, especially noticable on the short vans. My sister has a black and silver van and it just looks shorter than mine. I...

Re: What year did the factory window tint color change?

They window lengths are different, I was searching at the junkyard this weekend and didn't find anything on the tint color. I am still hoping that it is the early nineties when they change, I would really prefer to have the tint in the glass. I have a project van with clear windows if I have to go t...

What year did the factory window tint color change?

I am wondering if anyone knows what year the window tint color changed from the bronze metallic looking kind to the dark gray/black looking tint. I got the middle windows out of a 95 safari installed, but I haven't found a short van with the darker looking tint at the junkyard to get the rear quarte...
