belltech flip kit problem

Hi all. Just fitted a 6300 flip kit to the rear of my mates 1998 hightop van with steel leaf springs. The instructions in the box and on their website bear no relation whatsoever to the kit we fitted. The instructions were for the composite springs. Surprised that belltech have got that wrong. Anywa...

Re: Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

Thanks Danny. I'm now fed up of the transmission leak! When the van is continously moving and being parked in different places, the drips aren't really noticed. But when it's parked up in the same spot for ages, it all builds up fast. Plan was to remove trans x member and all rear brackets/mounts an...

Re: Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

Heres the wiring that I have rerouted under the windshield vents. It is all tiewrapped to the firewall just below the windscreen. Far tidier than the factory ever did. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u141/andyfanshawe/DSCF0036-3.jpg In this shot you can see the stereo head unit power wires and an...

Re: Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

Here is a rough schematic of the light setup at the front. The small white lights above the rectangular units are white LEDs (audi A8 is it?). The yellow are amber LED beacons. The whole lot will be covered by a black phantom grille that will completely close when the van is parked (shutter style). ...

Re: Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

Thanks Danny  Finally got the front fenders/hood to fit properly and all gaps are even. All captive nuts in place and working well with stainless fasteners. Joined front of fenders to front gfx/bumper with a custom bracket that also holds the entire assembly to the inner wheel arch to stop a...

Re: Unflip a flip kit!

Hi Mr Singh. Just came across this post. I live in the UK also (Derbyshire - J29 of M1). In about 4 weeks I am going to fit a flip kit (and dropped spindles) to one of my mates Astro 2WD van. So, I would have thought there should be stock parts available. I can contact him if you are interested to s...

Re: Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

Couldn't resist 'em Darren. Look gorgeous. Back to the van. This weekend was to get rid the front of the silly front wing holes in the A post. They have been drilled and self tapping bolts put in that are sloppy. Plan is to replace them all with captive M8 threads. Like this http://i167.photobucket....

My good matey SoCaliV8 has located me some 95 Camaro headlights and are on their way in to the UK.
With a bit of luck they should look okay. If not, it's back to the drawing board!!

Thanks Darren.

Re: Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

Hi s-10den. Yes we have POR 15. Smoothrite was just lying around handy and does the same job, and its in that gorgeous red \:D/ At each end of the bumper is a heavy bracket that connects the bumper to the subframe. Because I have lowered the bumper, the bracket needs to be modified. Interestingly, w...
