Air ride on sad pimped 92 Astro!!

This could be a long thread with an even looooonger story behind it!! This is a 1992 2WD Astro in the UK that has been “pimped” badly and has deteriorated since then. My mission was/is to resurrect it and have a bit of fun in the meantime!! The whole story from the dark beginnings can be found here ...

Re: Your opinions on these please - front air control arms

Thanks Darren. One of the reasons I ask is because they are from AIM industries (renamed truckinsuspension?) and I have heard only negative things about them. I have no idea why, perhaps someone could enlighten me. $1000 worth of parts to the UK and I need to hear some reassuring words first 8-[ Andy.

Your opinions on these please - front air control arms

Re: Is this a dropped spindle?

Thanks Rebel. As you can see from the photo, the van has been lowered. http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u141/andyfanshawe/pimped%20van/DSCF0088.jpg At the ride height shown, the lower control arm sits about 2 cm from the frame and smashes the bump stops to pieces!! The fact that it may not be a dr...

Is this a dropped spindle?

Can someone have a look at the photo and tell me if this is a dropped spindle installed on my van.

Thanks!

Working on full air suspension, no handles/locks, smooth dutch doors at the moment, and an eventual roof chop. Powerplant and drivetrain will remain stock cos I have another modified car in the garage and that costs enough!!

Re: She won't start - need help....

Hi. Get a scanner on this with live data available. Check that the temperature the PCM sees from the coolant temp sensor (CTS) is the actual temperature. Seen this many times when a vehicle has been poorly serviced and the coolant has deteriorated to a point where the system and whatever is immersed...
