Leno would have found one in a garage/shop someplace and had his crew re-do it! He has always had his eye on a '68 "A" body Hemi car (Dart or Barracuda). He'll have one some day I'd bet.....Yes it might end up to be a Jay Leno collector.

Re: Art Carr
He was building race car transmissions in Fountain Valley, California when I was Drag racing out there in 1969-70. His were second to none! He was also the first, or one of the first to build the 200-4R for serious performance work and made them live behind some SERIOUS turbo V-6 Buicks! I would use...

Stan, I can't open the attachments at work, but if you are talking about flat plates, that's what I used, except mine are aluminum, and they are available commercially. ls1.com (I think it is) has all kinds of swap info. They helped me a great deal with my Gen III swap. You might give them a try. I'...

Re: '99 LS1 and 4L60E from a Trans-Am into a '98 2wd Astro
Stan, It IS tight! Block hugger headers had to be "modified" to fit and the radiator mount support had to be "massaged" along with the actual aluminum radiator itself. Still looking for the "right" lower radiator hose so I don't have to revert to a flex type hose.....By...

Stan,
I have an LS2 in my '39 Chevy, in the final stages. Yours will be a killer swap! Did you use the plates for the V-8 mounts??

Re: Do you like Classic Rock?
When we moved to south Florida over 20 years ago one of the first things I noticed was three Classic Rock radio stations! Now there are a radio dial full of 'em! Like 50-60's music, no problem, 60-70's?? We have it 70-80's?? Got that too! Some even specialize in metal-blues-Beatles-Zepellin- 'Stones...

Re: reider racing
I bought some stuff from him when he first started out. Seems like it was something for my wife's 5.0 Mustang Convert. Came as advertised, no issues...He was/is a drag racer, Mustangs at one time, I think.

Re: GM's Typhoon and Cyclone
Back in the day, I remember reading that the 4.3 Vortec heads were developed, at least partially, from the Cyclone/Typhoon heads...Not so??
Also, I recall these were turbo charged engines, with inter/after coolers.

Re: Switching to synthetic
That's(those) are great stories! Ever ride the twins? I haven't in decades, but just saw a Spitfire Hornet when I was in Daytona this year...Looked like it just rolled off of the production line at Birmingham Small Arms, except for the megaphones one each exhaust! I put many a mile on one of those! ...

Re: Switching to synthetic
Wow Stan: BSA motorcycle race engine Been years since I even heard that term! I've beena H-D guy for 47 years, but I had a couple of cool BSA's over the years, a 500 Gold Star single (fun to start on cold mornings!) and my favorite, a NEW '65 650cc Spitfire Hornet , complete with magneto ignition an...

Re: More details for my 350 vortec please!!.
If by "383 Cam" you're referring to one designed for a 383 stroker, I wouldn't go there with the smaller engine. The 383 by design, already has more torque than a comparable 350, and the cam design would take this into consideration and NOT have to program as much bottom end into it. If yo...

Re: GM's Typhoon and Cyclone
Don't forget that the Cyclone/Typhoon used significantly improved cylinder heads on those engines and different camshafts and aftercoolers as well. Bolting a turbo on your 4.3 won't come even close to those power levels. I would think that a V8 conversion would save a lot of $$ of that conversion.

Re: How wide of tire wheel combo b4 sliding door hits?
I didi that a long time ago as well, but I remember it was just a longer rod to space the rear of the door out as it slid back over the rear wheel/tire. One of the van shops should still offer those, I would think.
