Re: name the car/van/truck

Actally Dodge and Desoto were separate brands under the Chrysler Corp. umbrella, back then. Desoto went the way of Edsel and Oldsmobile....

Re: LED TAILIGHTS,ANY GOOD?

I have a set of LEDs on my Astro that I really like! LEDs are brighter faster, and much longer lasting then conventional incandescent bulbs. You REALLY see them at night or in inclimate weather! Look on my signature for my picture trail account. Click on the ones for truckas and vans. The Astro is a...

the plug order is 315 on the left and 246 on the right
Tobaloba,
I think you mean 1-3-5 on the left...not 3-1-5..
Thanks for the info.

Re: Leather seats?

Thanks for trying folks! I've been looking too, but not much available. Might need to use some custom seats on my bases, like some members here have done.....Problem is that I KNOW what these seats are like, having put tens of thousands of miles on a pair of them and my wife and I both have back pro...

Hoidy-Toidy? Indeed! That particular picture was taken in Branson, Mo. at a table full of old former Viet Nam Marines like me who got together to ride motorcycles, visit again and generally cut up! The Hawaiian shirt was one of several I have, they're wash and wear cheepies!

Rebel, Here is my 6.0 LQ4 in my 1939 Chevy sedan. Still ongoing....

Re: A V-8 van in my driveway

I felt the same way as you, until I saw this '55 Chevy sedan (full street car) run 10.70 on street tires with an automatic and a very mild LS1, some time back! It was almost 2 full seconds faster than my "mini" stroker in my 12.40/110 S-10 and gets better fuel economy, even though it's abo...

Re: A V-8 van in my driveway

Rebel, Good guess! I have a 6.0/4L80E Gen III in a 1939 Chevy sedan that I need to get the last few things buttoned up on, and I would consider the same thing on the Astro. An LS1 or LS2 are hard to find in good shape and reasonable, but the 6.0 LG4 motors are begining to surface at reasonable price...

Re: Leather seats?

Thanks Gman! Seems these are all grey and I have tan interior....Nice to know at least there are some out there!! Scott, Leather was part of a package in 1998, I had a new one with it and loved it! Both of my seats are currently power, so it doesn't matter if both are power or not, I'll just use my ...

Re: Idler Arms and Ball Joints

Idler arms and ball joints like grease, lots of grease! I still do my own oil changes every 3,000 miles and some consider that overkill with sythetic oil, but I don't drive it everyday and it takes me a while to do 3,000 miles most of the time. Nevertheless, I always grease the suspension components ...

Re: Can the catalytic converter be eliminated?

You may suffer from low fuel pressure due to a clogged in tank filter or a fuel pump worn past acceptable limits. Drop the tank and replace that pump and filter, bet your problem is gone....
