Re: Gremlin

A Coupla things here... 1. Gremlins were available with V-8's when new, the AMC 304, which was a pretty good engine. 2. The entire drive train and parts to keep it going (regardless of engine) are available at Jeep dealers/stores, since they have similar power trains. 3. This guy WANTED to get caugh...

Your ride, your choice! If you mod your ride based on popular opinion, you'll end up with what everyone else wants/likes. Think it through and do it YOUR WAY!! You've done well so far, keep up the good work!

LOVE the GMC grille! Always thought it was better looking than the Astro grille! What seats are those? Use your stock seat base to mount them?

Re: Leather seats?

I had a 1998 LT that we bought new, had leather seats and both were power. The passenger power seat was an option as I recall, same on my current 1998 LS with cloth seats.
Hope this helps.

Re: name the car/van/truck

The old pickups were the same way up into the mid-50's models!
You're correct about the young cops not knowing this...my buddy is a retired Police Commander and he explained it to more than one overzealous rookie! LOL! Comes with the territory. :usa:

Re: A V-8 van in my driveway

Looks like it will be easier to do than it was to put a 350 in my 4 cyl. S-10 a few years ago!! The more I read about it the more it appeals to me, especially since I use mine to tow my bike and utility trailer all over the USA!! :usa:

Re: How'd you get your screen name?

ALL of the ones we have are cargo type and we just sold one last month. It was a 1999 with a bad engine for a few hundered dollars, otherwise in great shape! I'll post it here next time, but the site is http://www.publicsurplus.com and there are always vans on the site, sometimes Astro/Safaris. Ther...

Re: How'd you get your screen name?

Wagonmaster came pretty easy for me. When Flying helicopters in the Marine Corps we were flying formation not unlike a "Wagon Train" when we approched a landing zone. WHen the Line CHief needed Helos for a flight he'd hollar for his "Wagons" to haul the troops! After that I have ...

Re: Hey from South Florida

I was out before Nam got going. PLEASE don't apologize for that! You served four full years...they didn't ask you to go or, like the rest of us, you'd have been there, too!! We did had advisors and helicopters there since 1962, so you were there when it went on. Know LOTS of Marines there in '64-'6...
