Actually, I assumed that he checked the fluid level after the engine warmed up. Yes, please check the fluid level.kings-x59 wrote:lose much fluid out of the torque converter when you pulled it?

Re: 96 4l60e front pump removal
I really hate 'guessing' what's wrong with something if I can't see it. But I would really have to believe that something inside the trans got torqued when the pump had to be press fit on. I have never heard of anyone press fitting a pump onto a 700R4/4L60E. They should just slide in. I would tell y...

Re: TBI PCV system questions

What I'm trying to find out is which ports in the cylinder head the blow by gasses pass through to the rocker cover whe...

Re: TBI PCV system questions
Sounds like everything is getting old and gunky. One thing you might want to do is remove your TBI and rebuild it. Rebuilding is just cleaning it and putting new gaskets and seals in. The bottom of the TBI gets REALLY gunked up in the PCV area. x2. I had another safari a while ago that the TBI was ...

Re: Surface rust (pitted) on roof
At your local auto paint store ask for POR 15. After a small amount of sanding to get the scaley rust off you can put the POR 15 right over what's left. The stuff is great. It incapsulates the rust and stops it forever. It also leaves a finished paintable surface. The professional restorers have be...

Re: Loud Knocking Noise Coming From Rear of Engine...
Hey Astro355 I checked the flexplate and flywheel as best I could with a flashlight but I think I just need to get under there and look really good with a small mirror or something. How did you come to the conclusion that yours was cracked? And when you removed it was it a hairline or something you...

When you cut the springs in the front, did it cause the van to ride different? Is it softer or harder?
