Sounds like everything is getting old and gunky. One thing you might want to do is remove your TBI and rebuild it. Rebuilding is just cleaning it and putting new gaskets and seals in. I just fixed this problem on my van. Cracked flexplate. Only thing is that a have a 355 in mine, not a 4.3L. But yeah, its was really shitty.
