Composite to Metal Rear Leaf Springs

Hello, I bought a 1993 Astro, AWD, Ext. last year, and just started working on lifting this van, 4" all around. The price was great, just $600.00. Wasn't in the greatest of shape, but I planned on doing a restore anyways. Most things work, but it does need some TLC. At least it came with a 3.73...

1993 AWD Astro. 30 x 9.5 2" Overland Front Spacers Rear Add-a-Leaf With the Overland spacers up front, Torsion Bars jacked up about an extra 1 1/2" and with the 30" Tires, I was able to get the front raised a very good amount, about 5" up front, at the wheel wells at 35 1/2"...

Re: Rear Hatch Lifts Are Shot

Since we are on the subject of Rear Hatch Struts. I have a question.

What are the 2 wires used for that enter the end of the struts?

I have checked my Wiring Diagrams, and still haven't figured this one out.

Thanks

Re: A few Lifting Questions

Thanks Dunedog. 1993 AWD I currently have the Overland 2" front spacers installed. I wrote Dan and he sent me this email in response: I have never had a issue with the 4" kit. You could use 80-81 camero/firebird brake lines or order the S.S. ones that I use in my spindle kits. Can't say an...

A few Lifting Questions

I installed the Overland 2" lift blocks on the front, all went well. I have a few questions. 1) Front Brake lines. I replaced the old tired rubber brake lines, and I have since raised the front with the Torsion Keys. It seems I could use another 4" or so, just to get the bracket that conne...

Re: THIS WEEKEND. Things to do when lifting.

I just added the 2" Spacer blocks up front. I haven't raised the rear yet. But, I did notice a few things on the front. When raising the front, using the torsion bars. I found it much easier to use a large C clamp. I removed the anvil at the end of the C clamp. There is a nice round end of the ...

Re: A/C Compressor Cycles when in Defrost and Blend Mode

Thanks Capt. =D> =D> =D> I just found this online, ya learn something new everyday. :supz: A/C Compressor Cycling or Not Engaging. The clutch cycling orifice tube (CCOT) A/C systems such as the one in your Volvo are designed to cycle the compressor on and off to maintain a workable system pressure. ...

A/C Compressor Cycles when in Defrost and Blend Mode

This really isn't the season for A/C questions, but it is something that I am currently working on. I have a 93 AWD I just bought, W engine, front and rear A/C and Heaters. I just did a tune up, plugs, cap and rotor. Runs good. Then I was cycling through the heater controls front and rear. A/C is wo...

Re: Window Frame Paintwork

Very nice work, you did a good job. Where did you find the new Window Seals? Would you happen to know of any parts numbers? Next time you try and remove any kind of sealer/adhesive, try this product below: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/5166EWDYE8L._SL500_AA280_.jpg You can find 3M Adhesive r...
