Sort of the same subject.

I am replacing all of the suspension and steering joints (tie rods, ball, idler, ect) on my project van and I can't find a replacement relay rod. Anyone ever seen one made by Spicer or other quality manufacturer? I'm sure MOOG doesn't sell them. That it the last thing I need to complete the suspension and steering rebuild. I could reuse the old but the one boot is in bad shape and with all of the new parts that one joint may be the weakest link.

Comments?

Go with Moog! Especially if you're runnin' an AWD. Lifetime warranty. It don't get much better than that. There is tons of info on this site, and a lot of the members are VERY knowledgeable. To me, it always comes down to :you get what you pay for.

if you mean tie rod when you say relay rod, on my 94 astro, i used "Supreme Chasis" parts by mevotech. Pretty inexpensive and seems to be durable. There seems to be a bunch of # 's on the box, so here they are if you understand them:

SPI: 401-1184
MQ: ES2019R
REF: ES2019RLT
95 safari AWD
94 astro, just itchin' for a V8!!

Actually, relay rod is the main rod that receives everthing else and I was wrong about it. I thought it has a ball joint attached to it and it does not. I got home to see how bad the rubber boot was and found it was the boot/joint from the center link (I have that coming in soon). Problem solved! I will sandblast the relay rod, prime, paint and reuse. All is well in my world now.http://www.parts4chevys.com/partlocator ... atalogid=0

Everything I got was MOOG so far.

Thanks for the info.
