We've Got Snow!

Post by mdmead »

My family owns a couple of cabins on 7 acres and I made a trip there a couple of weekends back. We usually have snow there in the winter, but this is the most I have ever seen there.

This is the doorway leading in. Usually it is a 6" step up onto the porch...

Image

It looked even worse after I shoveled off the flat roof over the back porch. (Of course a bunch of snow above has since slid down.)

Image

That is our picnic table.

Image

We have a small deck off the upstairs bedroom. It's got a bit of a load on it now! (This deck is rotting away and I'll be surprised if it survives this winter.)

Image

Here is the other cabin on the property.

Image

Since my trip, at least another foot of snow has fallen with only minor melting....

Looks awesome, I haven't been snowmobiling in quite a few years, you definitely don't see that much snow very often around here.

I'll make you a deal. You shovel that crap off've one of the cabins, supply me with a snowmobile and I might, just might come down for a weekend to do some snowmobiling with you. Might even show you a thing'r two....

You would, of course, have to ask me politely. In public. On the forum. For all to see. Of course.

Honest to god Petey, you are invited here to snowmobile (snow permitting of course) anytime you would like. I'd even happily loan you a sled.

And don't worry, for MY safety, you would be set up in a seperate cabin! 8-[ [-X 8-[

Are you getting as much snow down as they are on Snoqualmie Pass right now? If you are the cabins are probably completely buried by now! (5ft in last 5 days) That would be a cool picture to see.

Snoqualmie is getting nailed! I heard the pass isn't going to reopen until tomorrow morning... that means it will have been closed for more than 24 hours... again... Got to be rough on truckers and anyone else needing to traverse I-90. (For those that don't know, an avalanche caught some cars up there yesterday after they had reopened it. It had been closed for about 28 hours earlier in the week.)

Our cabins are in the Blues, so we don't usually see as much snow as the Snoqualmie area. Of course a pretty significant storm came through the Blues earlier this week and hammered that area. (Your area too maybe?)

Yeah, we have about 18" of snow total, around 10" in the last 24 hours. WSU closed at 10 am this morning and classes are cancelled for tomorrow. The last time WSU cancelled class was in the 90's when the stream that goes through town flooded.
