lowering kit parts, what to get?

Post by violent b »

Hello everyone,
I have a 95 Astro with the steel leafs in the rear. I have the drop spindles from DJM and the lowered shocks but I still need springs up front, looking at the Eibach springs 2" drop or Ground Force 2" drop, and either a flip kit or lowered leafs in the rear.

My question is: should I go with the lowered leafs or the flip kit? price isn't that big of deal, and from what I've seen they are pretty close in price. Is one better then the other?

Thanks for the help,
Bill

get the belltech kit its got a better frant shackle than the djm trust me but the djm has adjustable rear shackles which is nice so you dont have to use the front shackles but you will need to notch the frame if you want to go all the way down and i have a set of 2" drop coils for sale they are also djm pm me if interested and if you have anymore questions

Can you retain the stock shocks in the rear (just put in bilsteins a few months ago)? I'm looking at the belltech 2.5" flip kit. :butthead:

BellTech rear flip kit gets my vote also. If you have spindles and lowered springs on the front you should use the stock front and rear spring shackles to bring the rear down to match. I definately recommend C-Notching your chassis rails.

have you used a bolt on c-notch kit before? I planned on bolting on the c-notch, then cut out the rail, then weld the bolt-on notch just to make it secure.

also has anyone tried a c-notch without having the body off?

I made my own using 3/8 of an inch plate, cut out the chassis with a cutting torch and mig welded the plates in.
