Finally broke down and bought a new to us 2003 Astro AWD. My choices were a Jeep Grand Cherokee or an AWD Astro or Safari. I finally decided that I would rather buy something that would haul 7 or 8 people comfortably so the Jeep was out!
I picked up a 2003 AWD Astro complete with rear heat and A/C, dutch doors, CD player, power windows, locks and mirrors! It also has new brakes and 4 new tires. It only had 52,400 miles on it.
Current rides:

1995 Astro 2WD conversion 4.11 posi, shift kit, DHC rock rails - sold to Skippy

I think I got a decent deal. Not a great deal but not bad. Paid $11,500 with new tires and brakes. We looked at another '03 with 88k miles but it was beat! They were asking $9995 for that one. Another one local has 49k miles and they are asking $14,500.

lol.. yes, I got the 93 LT Tristan. Sold it to my wifes ex after he was wrote off his car. he needed something right away and i had something that was ready to go but wasn't being used just yet
Jeez Hanan....where have you been? Yup Peter is right (for a change), we bought the 03 in Feb 2007 and traded it on a 3/4 ton dodge with a hemi (just like Peter has one) in August 2007. That was after we bought a 2007 Jayco 232 feather light hybrid camper and the Astro just wasn't safe enough towing the load on the highway.

If its got tits or wheels, its gonna give you problems!
im sure we all know the #1 junk yard rule if it fits in your pocket its free.
The truck is doing great. Getting a whopping 10 mpg...about the same as the SPB. No mods to it at all. I will be installing the 33's off the SPB soon though and be doing maintenance stuff this spring, diff's, t-case and a transgo shift kit and fluid. It's nice to be able to drop the hammer and be able to slide the rear end around anytime I want!
