Air Ride

Post by Mr Singh »

Sup fellas..

I'm having serious thoughts of doing air ride in my Astro.

I am a total newbie to this shiz.. Help! 8-[

I'm after a setup thats tried and tested, and something that can cope with a good 1 ton of audio in the back.

I've seen some kits on airbagit.com? what are they like? whats fitting like? do i need specialist tools? C-notch.. I believe i will need to do this, again apart from a welder what else should i be aware of?

Thanks folks, i did search but i just confused myself

Cheers,
Am.

check out suicidedoors.com for front cups and 4link parts, really quality stuff. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM AIM INDUSTRIES, they have great advertisements but not quality so ask if the stuff from airbagit.com is aim or not. nice looking van

hey am, here's a few different sites you can check out:

http://www.airrunner.co.jp
http://www.accuaircs.com
http://www.airliftcompany.com
http://www.ridetech.com
http://www.chassistech.com
http://www.contitich-usa.com
http://www.macsspring.com
http://www.prohopper.com
http://www.universalairsuspension.com
http://www.viaircorp.com

these should get you started. i don't know if any of these places have astro/safari specific kits but putting one together shouldn't be a big deal. c-notch will depend on how low you go. the weight of your stereo will determine that to an extent but going with a heavy duty air bag should help. c notch is usually for anything more than 3 inches of drop. after that u run the risk of bottoming out if you hit the right bump.

there was a local guy that used to visit the board and doesn't live to far from me. he had bags all the way around. i believe he sold his van but i might be able to dig up his number and find out what he used. PM me if interested. cheers.
