Rebadging the Astro, Denali?
In my quest of having a totally unique custom stro I am planning on paint in 2 months. The emblems will come off when I paint it, and my question is would it be blasphemy to put Denali Emblems on the side, and possibly one on the rear. I will have no badges else where. Here's my thoughts as to why:
I converted all the interior to black leather, I put clean 18's on it, I am adding a body kit to it before paint. Basically it's going to represent what could be the top of the line astro/safari in luxury and sport...
Your Thoughts? Or it this a totally gay idea.

hmmmmmm.....
I think it would be Ok if you added some composite projector headlamps as that is another trate of the Denali...
OR you could rebadge it as a "Denial" since you are just kidding yourself
lol ... just trying to be funny but not really working

Re: Rebadging the Astro, Denali?
Haha, yea I have my doubts about doing it and pissing off other people.... "it's fake it's fake!"
I hate it when people try to pass off other cars as upgraded versions, BMW M3, Cobra Mustang, Saleen, etc. Is this the same thing since they never made it?
And yea, I am still thinking about some custom lights, I am looking into it, I was looking at 99 cadillac lights.

If you are going to badge it, then you need to install a Denali style grill too.
(And I've looked at doing the grill anyway as I think it is a pretty cool factory design.)

Re: Rebadging the Astro, Denali?
Yea I looked up the meaning earlier this morning, as well as what models they were on. I swapped my grill to the gmc safari grill... Still tossing around the idea. Might just leave the van badgeless.

Thats funny.
I like the idea, actually. Just like the V8's with the "SS", and the lifted on the OVerlandvan site with the Z71. Like you said, its got the package! As long as you keep it in the family (Chevy) I think its sweet.

Re: Rebadging the Astro, Denali?
My step-mom has a first-gen Denali and as I recall, I measured the center of the grill and it is larger than my Safari grill. I figured I could cut out the center section (where your horizontal bars are) of my grill and cut up a Denali grill and figure a way to fasten it in. I thought it would look pretty nice.meetthespeakers wrote:Here's the front now.

Badgeless and shaved smooth gets my vote, and the "denial" comment was very funny!

Your ride, your choice! If you mod your ride based on popular opinion, you'll end up with what everyone else wants/likes. Think it through and do it YOUR WAY!! You've done well so far, keep up the good work!
