someone please stop me...

Post by 97TurboAstro »

I found a 98 Astro with a bad motor for $750, and a '96 engine for $450

If I put them together, could I make a few bucks?

Should I take Nancy Reagan's advice and "just say no"?

Why say no, Ron. Looks like an opportunity to make a few bucks. Nuthin' wrong with that. Alot more justifiable than sinking big loads of cash into our daily rides, actually :yawinkle:

Kinda depends on how much you can get for it and how many hours it will take to get it up and running.
if it calcs out to less than minimum wage, I suggest a part time job sacking groceries :poke:
At least you'd spend most of your time in the A/C.
'89 Astro, 4.3L, TBI. Minor intake and exhaust mods. Rebuilt 700R4 trans (by me). Corvette servo, 0.5" boost valve, police grade 1-2 accumulator spring (shifts fast and solid). B&M stacked plate trans cooler. Bilstein shocks. Belltech sway bars front and back. New head unit, speakers and subwoofer. Needs paint and a new headliner.

Do it. It gives you a project to work on and you could either sell it or drive it for a while. It looks like you could pick it up cheap enough.

I just did one of those. Cleared $1800 when all was done and sold. I say if you have some time, go for it. \:D/
