Well, a little more info might be helpful....such as, what year Hardbody? Is there an actual drivability issue or is the only problem with the tachometer operation? Did you check for stored trouble codes (procedure can be found at http://www.troublecodes.net/Nissan )? Did you use genuine Nissan or NGK parts when he replaced the plugs cap and rotor? Ignition timing in spec?

i'm at my wits end. this is what i have done thus far:

checked new plugs-burning evenly
replaced maf
replaced tps
checked fuel pressure- not sure about the regulator though. it seems to hold pressure for approx 20min.
replaced dizzy
did the seafoam thing
tried injector cleaner
can't find any vaccum leaks
and there are no codes in any of the settings

what is causing my rpm's to "pause"?

95 hardbody v6. VG30E engine.

HELP!!!

O, and i hope all had an excellent holiday season.

have you thought about bringing it in to a dealer? I know that the very word "dealer" is scary, but if you go ahead and add up the cost of all the parts you've thrown at it so far, it might end up being higher than if you'd had the truck diagnosed by a trained Nissan tech and then fixed it yourself. Not to mention the possibility that someone there has already been thru this hell before.
Other than that, if you're set on fixing it yourself you might wanna start testing every single sensor and associated wiring for shorts, opens or grounds. One by one.

Keep us informed and good luck, bud!

oh, i have thought about taking it to a dealer to get them to put their scanner on it. there are like 5 different modes to check ecm function, and they all checked out fine. however with that being said, there is something not right. i'll let ya's know. i figure that a diagnostic from nissan will probably run me around $100 or so. that's the scary part...ha ha
