My 1999 AWD has come to an end. The service AWD light is on all the time and i can not get it to reset any more. I don't have the money to spend on much replacment and I really can't even find anyone to check the code for me.
In the mean time I have been wanting to be able to enage the 4wd with a switch. I pulled the heavy duty 2 wire plug off motor on the transfer case and tested and I am not getting any voltage after cycling the key. I am thinking of a way to apply voltage to this motor to make the 4wd lock and then unlock with a switch possibly. If anyone else has any ideas about it chime in. I would also like a nice schematic as well if anyone had one. I got a manual form the library once but there is nothing on the AWD part of the system.
Here is the picture of the plug I am talking about. I am assuming it gets 12 volts by the size of the wires and the plug.

I have some ideas from mild to wild on how to make this work based on some work I did on my friends older Ford Explorer.
