Slider trim strip

How does the sliding door trim panel come off? That is the long narrow strip that covers most of the door rear roller assembly track.

Removed the tire jack interior cover panel.

Removed the panel that has the bucket with the drain in it. This has 2 bolts, with 1/2" heads, from inside the bucket. An air ratchet works best.

There are 4 tiny screws that hold the trim strip by its upper edge. The screw head is 9/32. The 5th screw is behind the tail light assy and holds the strip by its end. You have to pull out the rubber hole cover to gain access to the screw. Don't drop that screw inside the body. I doubt you will ever get it back.

AHA...the part I was looking for ... the roller assy. There is one large lower roller and 2 small upper rollers. I juiced the lower roller and it made a big difference in the "slide action" of the door. Juiced the uppers as well.

Oh, the sliding door would never "pop" open and was very difficult to move. Always had to grab the top corner to pull open the latch end.

I put wheel bearing grease onto the track that the rollers rode on.

Did all this to the roller at the top of the door as well as the lower roller. I also put a little juice in the latch and its post.

The van was parked up a slight grade so the door would open and slide very well. Before the lube job I had to push it open.

I've read elswhere to "just spray it" but to me it looked very difficult to get to the roller assy with the trim in the way and then the juice would dribble down the side of the van for days after. So I just hunkered down and did it more right IMO.
