4L60E solenoid upgrade....

Post by Hotroder383 »

Ok so I am getin ready to do a filter/fluid change on my 4L60E and I rember there being an upgrade soleoid form the corvette 4L60E. I would like to do this for a better shift, dont think I want to do a shift kit just want a litte better shift. I searched the boards here but cant find anything, I could be blind, but I think I read about it on the old boards. Any idea's on part numbers and other upgrades or tricks I should/could do with the pan droped?

The only thing I remember is the 'Vette servo. It is actually on the outside of the tranny on the right side. Maybe I don't remember the solenoid though...I forget! :-k :muhaha:

No your are most likely right. Could have been why I couldnt find anything on that eh.... LOL So any other advice on what I can do, been rethinking the shift kit, but I really dont want a hard shift. Still lookin for that smooth ride, maybe if it was a street/strip van.

O and anyone have a part number on that servo? I looked one up on O'Reilly' s and find nothing but one servo for $104 I dont rember it being that costly an upgrade. O and I think I have found my shift kit from B&M a light truck shift kit, dosent firm up the shift just stops the slippage between shifts.

You could also upgrade the accumulator springs to the ones outta the police or v8 kits.

Here is an example of a Corvette Servo you can use. It is only around $20 shipped. I can't recommend a light shift kit for you. I have done the Transgo HD-2 kit and love the snappy shifts!
